We apologize to all the people that were looking forward to us coming to their town, this was totally out of our hands and we will be back on the road again. If you can, please stop by our merch store and order a t shirt and a cd and help us get some money together so we can start hitting the road again."

Biography
YEAR FORMED: 2005
HOME TOWN: Charlotte, NC
MEMBERS:
Steven - Guitar
Joel - Guitar
David - Bass
Billy - Vocals
Marshall - Drums

Bursting with tight riffs and strong melodies, WRETCHED are prepared to make their mark in the metal world with their new take on old school thrash metal. A recent addition to the VICTORY RECORDS roster, these North Carolina musicians have their sights set on breaking the metal stereotype.

WRETCHED began as a jam band in 2005 and have been recording demos ever since. Steven Funderburk (guitar) and Marshall Wieczorek (drums) knew the first time that they played together that there was a strong connection. Throughout their three short years, the band has progressed in knowledge of music theory and composition, which has been a big benefit in making quality music. “We always make sure our songs and music are structured very well and are carefully thought out,” states Funderburk. “We put feeling and soul into our music, and we write it to the best of our ability.” Not only do they practice weekly as a group, they all maintain strict individual practice routines to progress as musicians this is proof of their dedication to excel in their craft and not be content to go through the motions.

Gaining a strong following in their home state of North Carolina that spans as far as Texas and New York, the band believes that online promotion and communication with fans at shows have helped in making WRETCHED a household name in the world of metal. Touring with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Bring Me the Horizon and The Human Abstract has helped widen their fanbase. Regardless of their thrash metal sound, they draw a wide variety of audiences, ranging from old school metal fans and headbangers, to hardcore scene kids.

WRETCHED is looking to bring back old school metal and color to the traditionally dark scene. “We have our own sound; it hints at what other bands do, but it’s our own interpretation of this certain type of metal,” states Funderburk. Fans can expect a highly-crafted album from the quintet in early 2009 from VICTORY RECORDS.

No question about it, WRETCHED is ready to play music for the musicians and metal for the masses.
