The Hierophant
New Will Haven Music
June 4, 2007
A new e-card in support of Will Haven's upcoming new album, "The Hierophant" has been launched here.

Set for a June 19th release (June 18th in the UK) through Bieler Bros. Records, "The Hierophant" has been heralded by band guitarist Jeff Irwin as "by far the best stuff we have ever done" and will be Will Haven's first new album release since 2001's critically praised "Carpe Diem".

"The Hierophant" was recorded at The Airport studios in Los Angeles California with Deftones "Saturday Night Wrist" producer Shaun Lopez, formerly of Far and guest producer, Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno.

The track listing for the effort is as follows:

01 - "Grey Sky At Night"
02 - "Kings Cross"
03 - "Helena"
04 - "Hierophant"
05 - "Caviar With Maths"
06 - "Landing On Ice"
07 - "Skinner"
08 - "Handlebars To Freedom"
09 - "A Day Without Speaking"
10 - "Singing In Solitary"
11 - "Sammy Davis Jr's One Good Eye"
12 - "Firedealer"
13 - "Dark Sun Sets"

Following the release of the previously mentioned "Carpe Diem", WILL HAVEN seemed primed for the spotlight as the band headlined venues in the United States and Europe alike, adorned metal magazine covers and was tagged "Saviors of Rock Music" by U.K. music-press powerhouse Kerrang! Then, without warning, the band announced they would be going on indefinite hiatus. That hiatus would last until 2006 when amidst much speculation WILL HAVEN returned with a co-headline tour of the U.K. with CROWBAR and a subsequent record deal with fast-rising indie label powerhouse Bieler Bros. Records.

Will Haven Announce New Album Title
February 17, 2007
Sacramento's Will Haven has set 'Heirophant' as the title of its new album, due in June via Bieler Bros. Records. The CD, which will be recorded beginning late February at Bieler Bros. Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida, will mark the group's first release since 2001's critically acclaimed 'Carpe Diem'.

Will Haven recently finished recording three new songs with producers Chino Moreno (Deftones) and Shaun Lopez (Far, The Revolution Smile). The tracks "Helena", "Sheppard's Bush" and "Landing on Ice" are described by the band as "by far the best stuff we have ever done. Definitely pushing the envelope, but that's how we want it. Having Chino and Shaun a part of it, you know some groundbreaking stuff is bound to happen."

Will Haven In Pre-Production With Chino Moreno
December 10, 2006
According to MTV.com, Deftones singer Chino Moreno is in pre-production in Los Angeles with hardcore-metal band Will Haven. In February, the group will begin recording at Bieler Bros. Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida. The yet-untitled disc is due in late spring or early summer via Bieler Bros. Records. The CD will mark the group's first release since 2001's critically acclaimed 'Carpe Diem'.

In an early 2006 interview with The Sacramento Bee, the Will Haven members discussed their break-up in 2003 and their decision to reunite nearly three years later.

The band got together in mid-December 2005, but no one was sure if that first rehearsal would click. All of the original band members were on board, including drummer Mitch Wheeler, plus Ghostride guitarist Cayle Hunter.

"When Grady [Avenell, vocals] came in, there was some apprehension at first," said guitarist Jeff Irwin. "We weren't sure how he'd come across. But when he started singing again, it was like the old days again. This is Grady's calling right here. His cadence was right on, his voice was perfect."

1995 found four best friends in Sacramento starting a band. With members in place, choosing a name proved simple enough by conjuring a ficticious character William Haven. The group worked hard touring up and down the West Coast opening for everyone from the Beastie Boys to Earth Crisis among others. They released a self titled seven song EP in 1996, selling several thousand copies through mail-order and at shows. Revelation soon came into the picture and the band went back into the studio in April. 1997 marked the turning point in Will Haven's career. El Diablo, their first full length album, was championed by nearly every loud music critic as Max Cavalera of Soulfly and Chino Moreno of the Deftones were among the many musicians singing it's praises. Almost immediately, the bands scorchingly evil debut shot to #1 on HITS Magazine Metal/Punk/Hardcore radio chart and Top 5 on the CMJ Loud Rock chart. In Conjunction with rave reviews, the quartet completed several hugely successful stints on the road including a US tour with the Deftones and Limp Bizkit, an East Coast tour with Vision of Disorder, and as the main supporting act for the Deftones in Europe. Fresh off of a summer US tour with Soulfly, Will Haven is geared up to hit the US and Europe this fall. 1999 should prove just as memorable with the long awaited, follow up full length WHVN set up for a September 14th release. Recorded and produced by Eric Stenman (also responsible for El Diablo) at Enharmonik Studios and mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap( Machine Head, Testament, Stuck Mojo) at Backstage Studios, England, WHVN is a sonic pummeling of metal-hardcore-noise that rivals virtually any other album out now that dares to call itself "heavy". Make no mistake, Will Haven has destroyed all musical boundries this time around and WHVN is destined to be one of the all time classic albums of it's kind.
