Whisteria Cottage Issues Update
January 22, 2010
Baltimore, MD's up and coming extremists, Whisteria Cottage, have issued the following update via the band's Official Myspace Blog:

"As many of you have noticed that we have not been touring and not playing many local shows. There has been quite a few reasons regarding this and im writing to clear all of this up.

Our last tour that we went on with Rose Funeral, we ran into some van troubles and it ended up costing us a good amount of money and we had to take this out of our pockets. With this happening we were not able to keep touring the next few months.

We are currently writing and have been writing for some time. We are really sitting down to write out the best material that we can come up with. We will continue to work on this new material for the next month or two and will be posting up some new songs here in the future. I am not sure who we will be recording these songs with but know we are going to put everything we have into them.

We will be playing some local shows here soon so make sure you come out to the shows, because we will be playing some of the new stuff live, and you will get your first taste at that.

Also we will have some more updates in the following weeks so please keep checking back and listening to 'Heathen'!"

P.S.
"Make sure you check out the new t-shirt designs!"

Whisteria Cottage's debut album, 'Heathen', was released on January 27, 2009 via Statik Factory Records. The album is available via Smartpunk and Interpunk, as well as the band's own Merch Store, select Hot Topic locations and all good Independent record stores nationwide.

Baltimore, MD's fast rising extreme metallers, Whisteria Cottage, will be hitting the stage tonight at the Talking Head club in Baltimore, alongside Fuck The Facts and several other bands. The show may also be the final show for original frontman Mike Comegys. The full line up for tonight's show is as follows:

The band recently announced that they were searching for a fill in vocalist for an east coast run with blaspheming death metallers Rose Funeral, as Mike would not be able to hit the road with the band due to personal issues. The tour dates have now expanded to a nationwide run, though no update has been given on who will be stepping in to fill the vocal position in Mike's absence.

Regarding tonight's show and his place in the band, Mike has issued the following brief update via Myspace:

"This will probably be my last show with Whisteria Cottage unless we can get something scheduled later on in September. It would mean alot to me and the rest of the guys if you could make it out to this show and support us and what we love to do."

Tour dates for the Rose Funeral headliner are as follows (exact locations will be announced shortly):

In related news, the band's debut album, 'Heathen', is now available via iTunes. The album, which was released back in January, has previously been available directly from the band's Merch Store, as well as Interpunk and Smartpunk, and select Hot Topic locations and all good independent record stores nationwide. In the meantime, you can check out tracks from 'Heathen' below.

iTunes is currently both the top selling digital music store in the nation, and the top music retailer in the nation overall, making it the logical choice for bands large and small, commercial and underground to have their music made available through the digital retail giant.

After dropping off the "Creatures Of Exodus" tour earlier this year (which also featured Within The Ruins and Wretched on the bill) and subsequently cancelling two headline runs due to issues with their Van, Whisteria Cottage used the down time to work on material for their next record and playing select shows in and around their local area.

July 9, 2009
Baltimore, MD's fast rising extreme metallers, Whisteria Cottage, have issued the following update via their Official Myspace Blog:

"Our vocalist Mike [Comegys] is having trouble right now and will not be able to tour.
We are looking to try out new people that meet the qualifications. This will be at least until late this year/early next year and depending on whether or not Mike is able to come back. It could be permanent.

Our next tour starts in mid august with Rose Funeral (Metal Blade). The vocalist will need band/touring experience and must be able to drive the van and trailer. Tryouts can take place in person or video's etc. The tour will be all south east starting in West Virginia and ending in New Jersey.

Hit us up and let us know whats going on. it really suck's that this is happening in such short notice, but this tour needs to be done and we all hope Mike gets back on his feet. Hit me up on my aim if you have any questions (aim = johnnyboh)."
