Skeletonwitch Announce Tour Dates, Blackest Of The Black
July 10, 2008
Athens, Ohio’s Skeletonwitch are proud to be announced as part of this year’s Blackest of the Black Tour alongside Danzig, Dimmu Borgir, Moonspell and Winds of Plague. Skeletonwitch guitarist Scott Hedrick comments: "Cheers and beers, heshers!!! Here's a quick Skeletonwitch update; proof that we've been doing SOMETHING since returning from Europe (besides gorging on Taco Bell). As you may have read, we're privileged to be a part of this year's Blackest of the Black Tour. We are beyond stoked to be a part of this killer lineup. About six years ago, I can recall [Skeletonwitch guitarist] Nate one Halloween half shit-canned, with half a 30-pack, and a Marshall half-stack, standing on his roof playing Danzig riffs. Back then we certainly never thought we'd have an opportunity like this!! A huge thanks goes out to Danzig for inviting us to be a part of this tour. Please come out early and check out our set.

“Also, in early August we're hitting the road with Valient Thorr and Early Man, as well as playing several solo dates. Check out our MySpace page for dates, new live footage and video interviews. Hope those dudes are ready to party, and we hope to see you out on the road. As always, thanks to everyone who has supported THE WITCH!”

Skeletonwitch continues to support the band’s Prosthetic Records debut, ‘Beyond The Permafrost,’ which saw an October 2007 release and features artwork from Baroness’ John Baizley and production courtesy of Corey Smoot (Municipal Waste, GWAR). The record is the follow-up to the band’s self-released EP, ‘Worship The Witch.’ Recently returning from a European tour alongside Hate Eternal, Cephalic Carnage, and Deaborn in May and June, having already toured Stateside this year with the likes of Hate Eternal, Soilent Green, Arsis, A Life Once Lost, Job For A Cowboy, The Red Chord, and more, in addition to a busy 2007 on the road.

Combining high energy speed rock-n-roll, sweat drenched heavy metal, and ass-shaking punk gospel, Valient Thorr came to this Earth from the Morning Star. This star is known to many as the planet Venus, and is the birthplace of Valient Thorr's rock n roll experience. After visiting planet Earth on many different occasions in various time streams, the band crash landed their spaceship in North Carolina on their way to Washington D.C. in the year 2000. With their ship and time machine severely damaged, the band has been forever stranded on Earth. Since the fateful date of that crash, Valient Thorr have been making their way across the United States and Canada convincing the saddened populace to believe in the true power of their own sweat and the ultimate energy in real rock n roll. Criss-crossing the country several times over on this campaign trail of rock gospel, these Venusians have shared the stage with countless killer Earth bands, making true believers out all whove been lucky enough to have caught their live demonstration of what Sonny Kay of Gold Standard Labs calls a southern fried Ian Svenonius fronting the perfect combination of AC/DC, Stooges, Iron Maiden, white trash, and black magic". Finding a partner in Volcom Entertainment to bring their message to the forefront of popular entertainment, Valient Thorr is once again ready to bring that true gospel of rock n roll to the streets. With the release of their new album, Total Universe Man, Valient Thorr lay down a meaty slab of rock AND roll that cannot be tamed. You won't hear about this kind of action on the news in the United States. The true call has gone out to and has already hit countries like the Ukraine and Uzbekistan and the results have been Earth shattering! These dudes know how to take it to the streets! It's the fervor that America needs! That's the sheer power, energy, and attack that Valient Thorr have, Total Freedom, Total World, Total Sky, Total Package, Total Universe, Man!
