We have been out on the road for about three weeks now and we are moving along nicely. The guys in all the bands are cool as hell to get along with and the shows have been great. It makes for a very cool touring situation. We have been seeing a lot of old friends which is always cool and making a lot of new ones too.

"We have also had a lot of cool opportunities to drop by some radio stations and play some acoustic sets which has been very unique and cool for us. There a lot of stations show some love to our song 'The Lesser Man', so we are doing our best to show the love back and come hang with them all. PLEASE call into your local radio station and ask them to spin the new Soil track! I am out for now and will give ya another update soon."

Biography
HOME TOWN: Los Angeles
MEMBERS:
Sean Danielsen Lead guitar
Vocals
Ryan Martin Bass guitar
Jake Kilmer Drums
Mike Booth - Guitar

Smile Empty Soul is an alternative rock band formed while its three members were still in different Santa Clarita high schools. The band originally consisted of Sean Danielsen (guitar and vocals), Ryan Martin (bass), and Derek Gledhill (drums). Derek Gledhill was replaced by Dominic Weir for their new album Anxiety, who has now been replaced by Jake Kilmer. He is supposedly a very good drummer and friend of Ryan.

After playing numerous hometown gigs, Smile Empty Soul began venturing to the Sunset Strip, and later passed a demo to Todd Parker of the Los Angeles indie ThroBack. That later led to a record deal with Jason Flom's Lava Records imprint, which was expanding in the wake of early signee Kid Rock's success.

The trio hooked up with producer John Lewis Parker, who helped with their self-titled debut album, produced by Lava Records on May 27, 2003. The album went gold in March of 2005.

At a concert on September 22, 2005 at The Beaumont Club in Kansas City, Missouri, lead singer Sean Danielsen stated that their new record, titled 'Anxiety', would not be released due to problems with their label. The band told fans that in order to receive the new album they could purchase one of a very limited number of burned copies or attempt to download the album online via [bittorrent]. At this moment, the band's website states; "To start the new year off with a big bang, Smile Empty Soul is holding off on the release of their new album, 'Anxiety', until 2006." They are now working on their 3rd album because 'Anxiety' could not be released. It will likely contain a few songs from 'Anxiety' that they will have to re-record. According to an extremely reliable source close to the band, Smile Empty Soul has signed with independent record label, Bieler Bros. Records and have chosen to release their new album "Vultures" on October 24, 2006. A single from this new album will be released on August 22 or 29.

Both of Smile Empty Soul's new songs, "Jesus Is The Manager At Walmart" and "The Hit", can be heard on their MySpace page
