Whisteria Cottage Show Tonight With Fuck The Facts
July 29, 2009
Baltimore, MD's fast rising extreme metallers, Whisteria Cottage, will be hitting the stage tonight at the Talking Head club in Baltimore, alongside Fuck The Facts and several other bands. The show may also be the final show for original frontman Mike Comegys. The full line up for tonight's show is as follows:

Fuck The Facts
Rumplestiltskin Grinder
Whisteria Cottage
Strong Intention
Destined For Nothing
Absolute Vengeance

The band recently announced that they were searching for a fill in vocalist for an east coast run with blaspheming death metallers Rose Funeral, as Mike would not be able to hit the road with the band due to personal issues. The tour dates have now expanded to a nationwide run, though no update has been given on who will be stepping in to fill the vocal position in Mike's absence.

Regarding tonight's show and his place in the band, Mike has issued the following brief update via Myspace:

"This will probably be my last show with Whisteria Cottage unless we can get something scheduled later on in September. It would mean alot to me and the rest of the guys if you could make it out to this show and support us and what we love to do."

Tour dates for the Rose Funeral headliner are as follows (exact locations will be announced shortly):

8/20 - Indianapolis, IN
8/21 - Peoria, IL
8/22 - Kansas City, MO
8/23 - Wichita, KS
8/24 - Fort Collins, CO
8/25 - Salt Lake City, UT
8/26 - Pocatello, ID
8/27 - Bend, OR
8/28 - Medford/Klamath Falls, OR
8/29 - Stockton, CA
8/30 - Fresno, CA
8/31 - Anaheim, CA
9/01 - Tempe, AZ
9/02 - El Paso, TX
9/03 - San Antonio, TX
9/04 - Houston, TX
9/05 - Metarie, LA
9/06 - Mobile, AL
9/07 - Atlanta, GA
9/08 - Charleston, SC
9/10 - Wilmington, NC
9/11 - Virginia Beach, VA

In related news, the band's debut album, 'Heathen', is now available via iTunes. The album, which was released back in January, has previously been available directly from the band's Merch Store, as well as Interpunk and Smartpunk, and select Hot Topic locations and all good independent record stores nationwide. In the meantime, you can check out tracks from 'Heathen' below.

iTunes is currently both the top selling digital music store in the nation, and the top music retailer in the nation overall, making it the logical choice for bands large and small, commercial and underground to have their music made available through the digital retail giant.

After dropping off the "Creatures Of Exodus" tour earlier this year (which also featured Within The Ruins and Wretched on the bill) and subsequently cancelling two headline runs due to issues with their Van, Whisteria Cottage used the down time to work on material for their next record and playing select shows in and around their local area.

Biography
HOME TOWN: Cincinatti, OH
MEMBERS:
Tim Russel - Vocals
Ryan Gardner - Guitar
Jesse Biesner - Guitar
Dusty Boles - Drums
Ryan Neff - Bass

Cincinnati, Ohio’s Rose Funeral bring fast paced riffs, bone crushing breakdowns, and just the right amount of melody to make the group brutal yet still catchy. Rose Funeral has built a sizeable fan base over the past few years in their hometown and across the US and Canada. This band is determined to tour nonstop. They’ve endured countless DIY shows and tours even as many of their peers have struggled to tour at all. Their style of death metal and their unquenchable drive to be successful has helped them rise among the ranks of the finest in underground American metal bands.

Rose Funeral’s first demo, Buried Beneath the Blood, was self recorded and self released in March of 2006. The demo was followed quickly by the release of their EP, Crucify.Kill.Rot, in August of 2006. The EP was well accepted among their fans in the tri-state area and helped to further their national presence. It was enough for them to get picked up by Siege of Amida Records, who re-released Crucify.Kill.Rot in March of 2007.

While promoting their debut, they toured and played shows with: The Black Dahlia Murder, Unearth, Walls of Jericho, The Red Chord, Animosity, Too Pure To Die, The Faceless, Dead To Fall, As Blood Run Black, Emmure, With Blood Comes Cleansing, Becoming The Archetype, Dead Man In Reno, For The Fallen Dreams, Diskreet, Last House On The Left, Once Nothing, My Bitter End, Endwell, Year Of Desolation, Nights Like These, In This Moment, The Burning Season, Veil Of Maya, Iscariot and more.

Their numerous regional and national tours helped gained the attention of Metal Blade Records and by early 2008, they had landed a deal. Since then, Rose Funeral has been hard at work continuing to tour across North America as well as writing their Metal Blade debut. The Resting Sonata is the title of that debut and will, no doubt, solidify them as one of the best up and coming young death metal bands in the US.
