Daath: Album Cover Artwork Revealed
January 6, 2007
The cover artwork for the upcoming debut album from Daath, entitled 'The Hinderers', has been posted online at this location.

Produced by James Murphy (ex-Death, Obituary, Disincarnate, Testament), co-produced by Daath, and mixed by Colin Richardson (Bullet For My Valentine, Machine Head, Cradle Of Filth, Fear Factory), with additional engineering by Andy Sneap, 'The Hinderers' is a strong return to the classic death metal/black metal sound that ruled the scene in the early '90s.

States the band's guitarist Eyal Levi, "Colin Richardson's mix is, as expected, CRUSHING! Working with him has been a blast and having Andy Sneap re-amp our rhythm guitars is no side note. This album is going to sound like we intended it to!" The result is a classic, progressive and technical death metal album featuring the songs "Ovum", "Festival Mass Soulform", "Subterfuge", "Under A Sober Sign" and more.

'The Hinderers' track listing:

01. Subterfuge
02. From The Blind
03. Cosmic Forge
04. Sightless
05. Under A Somber Sign
06. Ovum
07. Festival Mass Soulform
08. Above Lucium
09. Who Will Take The Blame?
10. War Born (Tri-adverserenade)
11. Dead On The Dance Floor
12. Blessed Through Misery
13. The Hinderers

A short question-and-answer session with Daath has been posted online at this location. A studio report from the making of 'The Hinderers' can be found here.

December 26, 2006
Fresh off supporting Through The Eyes Of The Dead and From A Second Story Window along with Prosthetic labelmates Light This City, Massachusetts' The Acacia Strain has returned home before hitting the road again in January and February.

Stated vocalist Vincent Bennett: "The Daniel has bowed out gracefully. For those of you have been asking about Daniel J. Daponde, here are your answers: due to health problems, Dan has been forced to leave his position as a badass guitar player in The Acacia Strain. We miss him a whole bunch, and we are sure you all do as well. Wish him luck in his future endeavors!

"We are NOT currently looking for a replacement. Please stop asking. When we do end up looking for another guitarist, we will let you know. For now, here is what you might want to strive for:

1. At LEAST one year of tour experience as a musician
2. Commitment to us and the road, we are never home.
3. A good attitude!
4. Willingness and the ability to write music.

"There is more, but like I said...We aren't really looking right now. DL is doing pretty well on his own.

"The tour with Through The Eyes Of The Dead, From A Second Story Window, and Light This City was fucking amazing! Thanks to all who came out and had a good time! See you again in January/February!

"Speaking of which, we are touring in January/February with Job For A Cowboy, Psyopus, See You Next Tuesday and Daath! DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO MAKE IT TO ONE OF THESE SHOWS. It's going to be bruuuuuutal. See you there!"
