New Daath Album To Be Released On Century Media/Roadrunner
January 30, 2009
There are many instances where the media and fans create misconceptions as to what a certain band sounds like or simply get lumped into a genre after numerous tours with artists from the same scene. Well, the Atlanta based quintet DÅÅTH certainly set out with a mission to truly separate themselves from the rest when recording their much anticipated new album, 'The Concealers', which is nothing but a straight shot of pure, unfiltered American metal at its very best. The dueling guitar virtuosity of Emil Werstler and Eyal Levi harkens many comparisons to Mustaine and Friedman, all the while the acclaimed Kevin Talley (ex-Chimaira) pounds away with fury and precision further proving he is one of the genre’s most accomplished players.

Now, with a dynamic new singer in tow, Century Media Records is proud to announce a worldwide partnership with Roadrunner Records to release DÅÅTH’s new opus, 'The Concealers', on April 21st. 'The Concealers' was produced and mixed by Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis (Trivium, All That Remains, Devildriver) and features unparalleled musicianship along with the extraordinary vocals of Sean Z. A new track, titled “Sharpen the Blades,” has been posted online at the official DÅÅTH MySpace page, so head over now to check it out.

Werstler comments: “We mutually agreed that CM would be much more appropriate for the band at this stage, but that nobody felt like it was time to end the relationship with Roadrunner, so we worked out a deal where Roadrunner still makes our records, but CM works them.”

DÅÅTH shot to the forefront of the metal world with the 2007 release of 'The Hinderers'. The band built a worldwide following by touring with the likes of Job For A Cowboy, Devildriver, Unearth, Despised Icon and others while also taking part in the 2007 edition of Ozzfest. After this wrapped and the band underwent some healthy lineup changes, DÅÅTH entered the studio more focused than ever before to begin work on their sophomore album.

DÅÅTH is the brain child of Levi and features amongst its ranks some of the best all around musicians in today’s heavy music scene. Werstler is also one of the most heralded up-and-coming guitarists today. See the video below to witness his shredding abilities. The band also enlisted the full-time duties of drummer Kevin Talley (ex-Chimaira, Dying Fetus, Misery Index), who is renowned for his technical proficiency, speed and strong attack.

Talley comments: “It's amazing that Roadrunner and Century Media are collaborating for the release of our upcoming album because I have been friends with both labels for so many years. I filled in for Suffocation in 1998, played in Chimaira, Devildriver, and now DÅÅTH who were all, at some point on Roadrunner and, over the years, I have gone to many of their international offices. My experience with Century Media dates back to my Dying Fetus and Misery Index days when I would stop by their office and raid the CD warehouse for killer music. I was even wearing a Century Media shirt during my Slayer audition. Overall, I am stoked because these labels are not only my friends, but they are great labels and I am honored to have their names on the upcoming release.”

Levi further states: “I’m not going to waste your time or insult your intelligence with a plethora of metal words and brutal adjectives about our new album. I’ll just say this: In my opinion this is the first true DÅÅTH record. I think it’s amazing. Any preconceived notions you may have about our band will be destroyed. We came together on this like one five headed, pissed off beast that’s out for blood. Everyone’s strengths shine like never before. It’s the best I’ve ever written and played and it’s the best I’ve ever heard my bandmates write and play. Call me cocky if you will, but check out the record and if you disagree feel free to write me on our MySpace and call me a prick. Otherwise I hope you enjoy the hell out of it and look forward to seeing you on the road!”

Daath Guitarist Issues Thrash And Burn Recap
August 26, 2008
Daath guitarist Eyal Levi has issued the following update via the band's Myspace page:

"I'm scarred for life. All day long I've been thinking about what I was going to write to you guys about the Thrash and Burn show we played last week and now the only thing I can think about is my grandmother's tits, and believe me, I'd rather be thinking about the former. Why am I thinking about that? Because I just walked into a room where she was standing naked. Now I'm going to attempt to wash away that painful image by thinking about the show. So here's the recap:

On Tuesday, the 19th of August, 2008 Daath played as special guests on the Atlanta stop of the Thrash and Burn Tour. It was our first show since finalizing our new vocalist, Sean Z, as well as writing, and recording our upcoming record, 'The Concealers'. That may not sound like a long time, but the auditions + new album process took about 8 months. We were more than ready to jump right in, and what better way to do it than to have the first show back be in front of our family and hometown friends ?

Before every show we play, we make sure to throw down with as many good friends as possible. Gets everyone ready to conquer. It's hard to imagine a band that we're closer to than Arsis. It was definitely great to get a chance to play with them again. This was our first time sharing the stage since Summer Slaughter 2007 and I can say that they sound better than ever with their new drummer.

Its safe to say that this day pretty much ruled. To cap everything off Metal Injection was there. We're always happy to hang with those dudes. Kevin (Talley, Drums) and I got a chance to chat with Metal Mark for a few minutes about upcoming things. I will leave you with that video below. Thank you to everyone who came out and represented, and to everyone who couldn't, we shall see you next time.

For more information and to check out pictures from the show, visit Daath's Official Myspace Page.

Drum Tracks Complete For New Daath Album
March 17, 2008
Kevin Talley, drummer for Atlanta death metallers Daath, has completed tracking the drums for the band's forthcoming album, 'The Concealers'. Kevin posted the following update on the band's Myspace page:

"Hey everyone hope all is well. I just finished tracking my drum tracks and am very happy with the tones. Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis, producer and engineer, here at Audiohammer studios are pretty confident that we can actually use my drums sounds. What a shock that will be on the metal industry, seeing that only about 5% of recordings these days actually have real drums. I am stoked!"

The band recently announced the addition of new vocalist Sean Z., to replace Sean Farber, who exited the band late last year.

Daath Seeking New Vocalist
October 25, 2007
Progressively inclined death-thrashers Daath are seeking a new vocalist upon the exit of Sean Farber. The band is looking for a distinctive voice to augment their brutally unique sound and mirror their complex conceptual background. With drummer Kevin Talley making history and surviving another band member, the band has cemented their bond and is seeking a new voice. After a highly successful run on this years Ozzfest, Daath are gearing up to hit the studio in early 2008 to construct their second offering, tentatively titled 'The Concealers'. Once again focusing on each facet of the Tree of Life/Death, 'The Concealers' will delve deeper into the various sides of human nature and behavior. The band is looking for a vocalist to set the stage ablaze with distinguishable tenacity and thoughtful finesse.

Daath are currently on tour with Dark Funeral and Naglfar, with longtime friend Sean Z filling in on vocal duties. The band is looking for a vocalist with versatility, a touring heart and a fervent love for all Daath has to offer. "We like vocalists with signature diversity such as Michael Akerfeldt, Vortex, Phil Anselmo and David Vincent."
