Conducting From The Grave Frontman Parts Ways With Band
February 3, 2010
Lou Tanuis, best know as the frontman for Sacramento, CA's modern melodic tech thrashers, Conducting From The Grave, has checked in with the following update:

"Sometimes life closes doors and opens new ones and with a open mind and a big heart that you can conquer all. I with all my heart thank every single person I have met in almost the last two years. I have seen almost every state in the country and been to Canada. Jeff, Steven, John and Greg you guys are brothers forever. This is the hardest decision of my life and I know it's the right for everyone. Especially my son who needs me there to be a guiding light. I'm not saying goodbye I'm saying see you soon. Thank you to anyone and everyone that came and hung out at shows and made a difference in my life. Words can't express what each of you meant to me.

I'm on my way to being more settled than most people my age or older for that matter. Stepping up and being a man is one of the hardest things to do in life you make sacrifices and have to push on.

For the past almost two years Conducting From The Grave was my life and those memories will last with me forever. Being able to have my name and lyrics on an album that actually meant something to someone was a dream.

I've got to experience more than most people ever will. No words can express that.
I'm keeping this short and sweet. I love you all! thank you <3."

While there has been no Official statement from anyone else in the CFTG camp, it appears that the parting of ways was completely amicable.

In related news, the band posted the following update a couple of days ago via CFTG's Official Myspace page:

On Recording:
"If you haven't heard yet, we are recording in two weeks with producer Zack Ohren (Animosity, All Shall Perish, As Blood Runs Black). Zack recorded us on our last record and we are stoked to work with him again. The release will be 11 brand new tracks (no re-recordings like our last album had) and should hit stores this Summer."

On Touring:
"We will most likely be touring starting April/May and hopefully into 2011 before writing another album. Official dates will be posted in the next month or so.

**Upcoming local Sacramento show THIS FRIDAY!**

This will be a rare chance to see John and Steven doing vocals on old songs while playing guitar and bass." (See the show flyer below for more info)

Merch:
"Please check out the merch too if you have some cash to spare, times are rough for us since we have the worst of luck with our tour van (replacing the locks some asshole busted out while breaking into our van and stealing a bunch of shit from us last tour is costing us $$$, as well as various other mechanical problems and services we need before being able to go on the road again) so every little bit of help is greatly appreciated!"

NOTE: "We are not in need of a new vocalist or anything like that, Lou Tanuis is still the vocalist for CFTG and will be recording our next album with us and touring with us etc. However he still lives in Connecticut and can't fly out for just one show and we really want to play our new material live before we go into the studio to record. This will be a rare chance to see John and Steven doing vocals on old songs while playing guitar and bass."
