Nachtmystium Debut New Track Through Stereogum
April 21, 2010
Stereogum has the premiere of "No Funeral," taken from the band's forthcoming album, 'Addicts: Black Meddle PT. II' out June 8th. Check out it out at this location.

Also, singer/guitarist, Blake Judd checks in with this report: "Nachtmystium have just completed our first full-European / UK headlining tour. The tour was amazing and we reached crowds everywhere in the UK, Scandinavia, the Baltic states and western Europe. We'd like to thank all of our friends and fans who came out in support of our conquest across this continent.

"After seven weeks of non-stop touring here in Europe (and 2 1/2 weeks prior to leaving for Europe in the United States with Kreator and Voivod), we are now stranded in the London-area of the United Kingdom, awaiting any word on when flights will resume in the wake of the volcanic eruption in Iceland. While we are here, we are looking to pick up any gigs / show opportunities to help keep the group of us afloat while we're stranded here in the coming week or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The band can be reached directly via myspace, or our booking agent can help, Please email tony@firstcontactagency.com and message us on myspace if you can help.

"Thanks again to everyone who helped out with the European tour, and a massive cheers and thank you to the organizers of the amazing Roadburn and Inferno festivals in Holland and Norway. We had an amazing time and show at both events."

Nachtmystium Issue 'The Doomsday Derelicts' EP
August 6, 2009
Few bands today embrace their own individualism to ultimately craft something truly unique and genre defying regardless of its sales potential. Enter the Chicago-based Nachtmystium who embrace the true spirit of individuality and intolerance forming solely as an outlet to express the dark musical visions and summonings of those involved.

This vicious, uncompromising quartet, led by mastermind Blake Judd return with 'The Doomsday Derelicts' four-song EP that was recorded at Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago, in May 2008. The guys basically found out Steve Albini's studio (Electrical Audio) had an opening, so they all went in and recorded some songs. It was just a laid back, have a few beers and record some thrashy, more straight ahead metal stuff vs. the psychedelic nature of 'Assassins'. These four songs were engineered and produced by Sanford Parker (Minsk), with the CD version released on Blake's own Battle Kommand Records. The digital version is now available for purchase via iTunes.

'The Doomsday Derelicts'
Track Listing:
1. Bones
2. Life of Fire
3. Hellish Overdose
4. Pitch Black Cadence

(**Guest guitar leads on "Pitch Black Cadence" and "Hellish Overdose" courtesy of Carcass Chris [Usurper]**)

Line Up:
Blake Judd - Lead guitars, vocals, piano
Jeff Wilson - Rhythm guitars
Jon Necromancer - Bass guitar, backing vocals
Sanford Parker - Analog and digital synth
Zack Simmons - Drums and percussion

The Agonist Release New Album, Prepare For Tour
March 11, 2009
Canada’s most exciting female fronted export, The Agonist, strike back with their second full-length offering, 'Lullabies For The Dormant Mind', which combines shredding leads with pure technicality, topped off with the glamorous Alissa White-Gluz’s brutal growls, as well as dramatically melodic clean vocals, that take The Agonist to a new level of musical grandeur. It is extremely rare to find an up-and-coming metal band taking strong political stands, much less one that’s led by a dominating, beautiful, edgy female. Head over now to www.myspace.com/theagonist to stream two new tracks, “The Tempest” and “Martyr Art.”

The group kicks off its worldwide touring cycle for this new effort with a massive North American trek alongside labelmates The Haunted and Nachmystium on April 2nd. See below or visit their MySpace page to view their complete touring itinerary.

White-Gluz further comments: “We are extremely happy to be going out on the road to promote our new album, 'Lullabies for the Dormant Mind'. We devoted so much to this album and we are confident that it shows! First on the agenda is visiting our good buddy David Brodsky and the MyGoodEye team (Bleeding Through, Suicide Silence) to film a new music video for the track ‘Thank You, Pain.’ Then we will hit the road hard for a whole slew of tours. We have new merch, a band portrait I painted myself that I will be selling prints of and we are campaigning for ‘A Song for Africa’ this time around. We also will have lots of webisodes and live footage for our fans. We can't wait to get out on the road and look forward to seeing you all soon."

The Agonist, born in 2004, covers a wide range of styles from classical to black metal. Their debut album, 'Once Only Imagined' (2007), caught the eyes and ears of many musicians and music fans alike, and their sophomore album, 'Lullabies for the Dormant Mind', will once again prove the diverse talents of these young musicians. The a cappella version of Tchaikovsky’sSwan Lake” is only one example of the band’s musical abilities as it impressively exhibits White-Gluz’s mind blowing wide range of vocal skills and professionalism as a singer.

Produced by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, Mythosis), 'Lullabies for the Dormant Mind' exposes new facets of the band and touches upon classical, jazz, opera, grindcore, thrash and black metal influences in a complete metal opus. Following a dark, twisted yet beautiful, surrealist visual concept from Natalie Shau once again, The Agonist have created an uncomfortable yet addictive setting for their metal. 'Lullabies For The Dormant Mind' promises to turn heads with its daring mix of moods and styles – a challenging album well ahead of its time.

Nachtmystium have existed since 2000. Formed by Blake Judd and Pat "Noctis" McCormick, the band started off as a primitive 4-tracker black metal band. Over the years, the band has progressed through many line up changes and the sound has constantly matured, stepping away from the typical black metal thematics and embracing different influences within the sound, while maintaining a raw and harsh edge that's unique to the black metal genre.

The incorporation of other influences have helped the band create a sound that is unique to them specifically, and will continue to work as an ever-expanding unit with the ultimate goal to create metal music that pushes boundaries and walks into uncharted territories.
