Mendeed Calls It Quits
September 5, 2007
Glasgow-based modern metallers Mendeed have called it quits. According to guitarist Steven Nixon, the split was caused by "irreconcilable difference with our manager." He added, "We would like to thank all of our fans for believing in us and helping us get as far as we did. I really wish things would have turned out different for us. Thanks to everyone that had faith in us, we'll miss you all."

Mendeed's last album, 'The Dead Live by Love', was released in February via Nuclear Blast Records. A video for the CD's title track can be viewed here.

Mendeed last year completed a European tour with Napalm Death and Born From Pain.

In December 2003 Mendeed signed a recording contract with UK label Rising Records. The bands first recording for the label was mini-album "From Shadows Came Darkness" which was released in September 2004 and produced by Mark Daghorn. Since its release tracks have been played on all the major rock and metal radio stations and a live session was recording and aired on BBC Radio 1 Rockshow. 4K reviews in Kerrang! magazine for "From Shadows..." and a live performance in london along with positive words from Rocksound magazine and countless webzines soon followed.

Relentless touring and intense live performances up and down the country have saw the band expand their fanbase and encouraged people to sit up and take notice.

In December 2004 the hard work put in by the band was awarded when the video for forthcoming single "Ignite The Flames" was added to the playlists of MTV 2 shows "Headbanger's Ball" and "120 Minutes" aswell as constant rotation on Scuzz TV.

Currently writing for their second mini-album on Rising Records which will be released in Summer '05, the band will hit the road again in February before recording the follow up to "From Shadows..." and then more touring again in March.

A straight up balls out metal band with the added dynamics of hardcore, harmonies and solos set them apart from the others. Comparisons drawn to Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Iron Maiden, KSE, Unearth, Lamb of God, In Flames and Avenged Sevenfold show that Mendeed are indeed a unique force.
