Epicurean Checks In From The Road
September 22, 2009
Minneapolis, MN epic extreme metal powerhouse, Epicurean, is currently travelling across North America with Luna Mortis and power metal giants, Edguy. Tickets can be purchases in advance at www.enterthevault.com.

Vocalist John Laramy updates us from the road: “So as we were pulled into the immigration office at the Canadian border which immediately took on the appearance of the typical "band-ass-raping" that in sues every time an American band attempts to cross the border to the land of our northern neighbors; I couldn't help but think to myself that this is just yet another issue to add to the shit-heap of problems we've dealt with in pre-production for this tour…Visas cancelled for our lead guitarist, bus broken down, and a million other annoyances that have accumulated over the past few weeks leading up to this moment locked in the immigration office.

However, a few hours and a few hundred dollars, American dollars I may add, we were on our way to Toronto…a little battered, considerably more broke, but in the grand scheme of this not too much worse for the wear…Two traffic stops later (under completely bogus pretenses I might add) we FINALLY arrived in Toronto.

I will say this about Toronto: Very cool city, the women are amazing and the food is great, and in typical "Canadian-metalhead" fashion, the crowd at the Opera House more than exceeded everyone's expectations by leaps and bounds. Incredible show! I think even Bigfoot made a brief appearance, decked out in full hockey gear and banged his head like one of the trailer park boys on a 5 day coke bender.

The next day, off to Montreal, where once again the crowd blew all of us away, and despite the French accent, "fuck yeah" means the same thing no matter how you say it.
The rest of this tour is already shaping up to be an amazing time! We'll keep everyone updated! And for those of you in the cities we are playing next, we'd better see you here banging your heads! Keep it metal everyone!!!”

Epicurean's Metal Blade Records
debut, 'A Consequence Of Design', is available everywhere now and can be purchased on www.metalbladestore.com. Fans can check out live photos from the Logan Square Auditorium show in Chicago, IL on www.metalbuzz.net.

Luna Mortis Embark On First Ever National Tour
September 7, 2009
The southern Wisconsin quintet, Luna Mortis, will embark on their first ever national tour alongside Edguy and Epicurean this week, so head over to the band's Official Myspace Page to view their complete touring itinerary.

The group’s new video for the track, “Forever More,” can be viewed below. The clip was directed by the renowned David Brodsky (All That Remains, Bleeding Through, Black Dahlia Murder).

Mary Zimmer
(vocals) further states: “We are so excited to be getting ready for our North American tour with Edguy and Epicurean! Getting things off to a good start, so far, and we've got a couple of lineup changes to announce for the tour. First of all, our bass player, Jake Bare, wasn't able to hit the road with us this time, so we are very happy to have producer Don DeBiase filling in on bass guitar for the entire tour. He's an incredible musician and performer and has produced music for us as well as bands like Beneath the Sky and Forever In Terror. He's a good friend of ours and we hope you will all enjoy watching him on stage with us this September.

“Also, due to circumstances beyond their control, Epicurean had both of their guitarists become unavailable for the tour last minute. So, both of our guitarists, Cory and Brian, are stepping up and doing double duty this tour and will be playing with Epicurean as well. On top of this awesome tour, we are finally releasing the video for the track ‘Forever More’ that was directed by David Brodsky. We are so pumped to show you this video. It was filmed in Monroe, WI at a place that used to be a church, but is now a concert hall. The stained glass in the building was great and working with David was incredible and we are so excited to share the video with you all. See you out on the road with Edguy!”

Luna Mortis Featured On Wiconsin's CW Network, Shoot New Vid
March 10, 2009
The southern Wisconsin quintet, Luna Mortis, made a huge impact on the metal scene with their epic, piercing, Century Media debut full-length offering, 'The Absence', which runs the gamut; encompassing everything from captivating melodies, technical precision and engaging hooks. Further validating their success, the band was honored to be featured on "The Daily Buzz" show on Madison’s CW Network. The piece features some interview and performance footage, so head on over to this location to check it out.

Mary Zimmer (vocals) further states: “Recently, we were approached by Madison's CW network for an interview so we were more than happy to oblige, and were surprised at the request. It's not too often that you see metal bands on regular television, let alone a morning show like ‘The Daily Buzz’ here in Madison. The CW crew came out and interviewed us at The Annex, one of our favorite venues here in Madison, and we also did a live performance of ‘Forever More,’ which they cut into the story as well. It was a great experience and we are so glad to have such huge hometown support.

“Speaking of videos, in the last couple of weeks, we've also completed filming our first music video for our album 'The Absence'. It will be of the song ‘Forever More’ and it was shot in Monroe, Wisconsin - a really small town where some of the guys grew up - in a place called the Monroe Arts Center. It used to be a church, but has been converted for concerts and performances, but the video is going to look very epic as the building was awesome. It was shot by acclaimed director David Brodsky, who has done TONS of other metal videos (Bleeding Through, The Agonist, Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, etc.) and has won several awards from MTV2s Headbanger's Ball. He and his production assistant, Allie, were great to work with and we think the video is going to look incredible. When the video is up, we will be stoked for you all to see it and we can't wait to hear what you think!”

Luna Mortis prides itself on blurring genre lines to arrive at something both beautiful and aggressive. Their ability to capture a progressive and dark sound should appeal to metalheads regardless of their sonic inclinations. Zimmer’s approach is unlike her contemporaries with an unlimited range and dynamic scope that will quickly help set the group apart from the pack. The album, produced by the acclaimed Jason Suecof (All That Remains, Trivium), is now available worldwide and be sure to visit www.myspace.com/lunamortismusic now to stream the captivating new track “Forever More.”

Luna Mortis Unleash Debut, Post New Track Online
February 11, 2009
The southern Wisconsin quintet, Luna Mortis, is about to make a huge impact on the metal scene with their epic, piercing, Century Media debut full-length offering, 'The Absence', which runs the gamut; encompassing everything from captivating melodies, technical precision and engaging hooks. The album, produced by the acclaimed Jason Suecof (All That Remains, Trivium), is now available worldwide. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/lunamortismusic now to stream the new track “Forever More.”

Mary Zimmer (vocals) further states: “We are so excited about the release of our new album, 'The Absence'! We've been waiting several months to share the entire album with our fans, and we can't believe the release is here already. It's the culmination of months of work, from recording with Jason in September, to new photos, artwork and all the hard work that we as a band and the staff at Century Media have put in to helping us get out a kick ass new album.

“We've uploaded one of our favorite songs called ‘Forever More’ from the album for you to check out! We're also extremely pumped for our first couple of radio appearances in support of the new album. On Sunday, we'll be making our first commercial radio appearance with Madison's 94.1 WJJO! Our CD release/listening party is this Friday in Madison, and then later this month we'll be hitting the stage with Soilwork in Milwaukee and Chicago. We're so incredibly pumped to see you guys in the audience and we can't wait to play for the midwest fans. Thanks again, everybody for your support and don't forget to pick up 'The Absence' this week! We look forward to seeing you all soon.”

When you’re trying to break into the international music scene from Wisconsin, you’re left to claw your way up yourself, and Luna Mortis did exactly that with the 2006 release of their self-produced LP, 'Way of the Blade'. As the album made its way through the local grapevine, the band had cemented enough of a regional reputation to generate label interest. They began a period of intensive demo production and showcasing, beginning with the recording of their EP, 'The Answer: Does Not Exist' and culminating in the opportunity to cut four tracks with Jason Suecof. These efforts ultimately found Luna Mortis a home at Century Media amongst a literal pantheon of some of the band's most respected and admired influences.

From the valleys of Southern Wisconsin come Luna Mortis. At once melodic and abrasive, technical and engaging, the female-fronted quintet blurs genre lines and transcends convention, carving a niche all their own, providing a new and powerful voice in metal.

Since the solidification of their lineup in 2006, the band has consistently set a very high standard for live performance in their native Midwest, delivering precise renderings of their recorded material with unbridled intensity. The strength of the band's live show has allowed them opening spots for such acts as Megadeth, Nevermore, Dream Theater, Children of Bodom, and many more. This, combined with the international acclaim garnered by the 2006 release of their self-produced LP, "Way of the Blade*", established Luna Mortis as the region's premier metal act.

By mid-2007, the band had gained sufficient momentum & notoriety to generate significant label interest. They began a period of intensive demo production and showcasing, beginning with the recording of their EP, "The Answer: Does Not Exist*" and culminating with the opportunity to cut four tracks with producer Jason Suecof (Trivium, Chimaira, All That Remains). These efforts ultimately found Luna Mortis a home at Century Media amongst a literal pantheon of some of the band's most respected and admired influences. This end result of years of dedicated work is only the beginning for Luna Mortis. With the backing of one of metal's largest and most enduring labels, the band looks outward, prepared to deliver their music to the world.

Look for Luna Mortis's Century Media debut in early 2009, and expect tour dates to be announced in the coming months.
