La Coka Nostra's Slaine Featured In Freddy Madball Video
May 30, 2010
La Coka Nostra's Slaine has joined forces with New York hardcore legend Freddy Madball in the video for the song "Gunshots", which can be viewed below. The track appears on Freddy Madball's hip-hop solo album, 'Catholic Guilt', which was released through Familia Entertainment.

"I'm excited to be working alongside my homie Slaine and my man Jaysaun. I think these guys are some of the best MC's in the game, and they happen to be family," commented Freddy Madball. "As I embark on this hip-hop journey, I intend to make a statement, and who better to do that with then these guys and with this song. The video speaks for itself. Respect."

"Aside from being the frontman to one of the greatest hardcore bands ever, Freddy Madball has been a friend for damn near 15 years now. He always had wisdom and encouragement for me when I first started doing my thing as an MC in the late nineties," commented Slaine. "When he was working on this hip-hop project he reached out to me, and Jaysaun to do a joint, and we made a banger. I'm sure this won't be the last time you see us collaborating. For the video, we shot it in Brockton, Boston and New York, and visited the gravesite of our fallen brother 'Boston' Mike Foster."

Slaine has been grinding his way throughout the underground hip-hop scene since 2001 when he cut a demo in a studio operated by the Lordz of Brooklyn. Since then, Slaine has been traveling the world performing for his growing fan base, and working with hip-hop icons such as DJ Premier, House of Pain, Cypress Hill, and The Alchemist. Slaine is currently touring in support of, 'A Brand You Can Trust', the debut album from hip-hop supergroup La Coka Nostra.

La Coka Nostra Debut Due In July, Tour Dates Announced
May 24, 2009
La Coka Nostra is proud to announce a July 14 release date for their debut full-length album, 'A Brand You Can Trust'. This is the group’s first release on Suburban Noize Records. LCN features Mr. White (Everlast, House of Pain), DJ Lethal (House of Pain, Limp Bizkit), Danny Boy (House of Pain), Ill Bill (Non Phixion), and Slaine (Special Teamz). The album features special appearances from no less than Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Bun B, Psycho Realm, Immortal Technique, Q-Unique & the Alchemist.

LCN MC Slaine commented on the upcoming release: “When we first started recording tracks for La Coka, we knocked a lot of joints out at once, and there was a lot of hype and buzz around the project and the group. We started leaking those tracks to feed the hunger that was out there, but in the meantime, I think we raised the bar and created an expectation level within the group to really make a dope record. While we were on the Bring Tha Noize tour, I had the headphones on and listened to the final version of the album sequenced, mixed and mastered, and bugged out at how good it is. This shit bangs. We set out to make a boom bap hip hop record, and we did that, but to stop there would be selling it short, because lyrically, musically, and sonically this album doesn't fit in a box. This summer the world will finally hear what the fuck is really going on with La Coka Nostra.”

Following several European tour dates this July, La Coka Nostra will be making several appearances at this summer’s Rock The Bells tour, which features Nas, Damien Marley, The Roots, Busta Rhymes, Common, Big Boi, KRS-One, House of Pain, Tech N9ne, RZA, GZA, Raekwon, and more!

La Coka Nostra pride ourselves on the quality of our music & our brand in much the same way Guerilla Union does with their annual "Rock The Bells" festival series,” added Ill Bill. “We are honored to be a part of this year's festivities and look forward to spending the summer rocking alongside Hip Hop's latest & greatest talents.”

The full list of La Coka Nostra dates can be found below.

La Coka Nostra To Perform At Rock The Bells 2009
April 13, 2009
With anticipation at feverish levels for La Coka Nostra’s upcoming debut, 'A Brand You Can Trust', the group has announced they will appear at this year’s Rock The Bells hip-hop festival performing alongside a reunited House of Pain. The tour is expected to hit 10 North American cities from June 27- Aug. 9 and will feature Nas, Damian Marley, the Roots, Big Boi and Common, amongst others.

The group recently completed their sold-out Bring Tha Noize Tour with Kottonmouth Kings and has offered the following tour recap:

“The Bring Tha Noize Tour was dope. Every night the venues were packed and the fans matched the energy that we brought to the stage. With La Coka Nostra and Kottonmouth Kings on the same bill, you had to know that it was going to be a wild party when you bought the ticket, and that's exactly what it was,” says La Coka Nostra’s Slaine. “Kids were moshing and going crazy in just about every city in the country. Now that the tour is over, I am short a few more brain cells, and I am looking forward to doing it all over again soon.”

La Coka Nostra’s 'A Brand You Can Trust' will surface through Suburban Noize Records on July 14th, 2009. The group’s debut features an all-star roster of collaborations between La Coka Nostra and Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Bun B, Psycho Realm, Q-Unique, Immortal Technique and the Alchemist. The group’s video for the track “I’m An American” can be viewed below.

“When we first started recording tracks for La Coka, we knocked a lot of joints out at once, and there was a lot of hype and buzz around the project and the group. We started leaking those tracks to feed the hunger that was out there, but in the meantime I think we raised the bar and created an expectation level within the group to really make a dope record,” says Slaine. “While we were on the Bring Tha Noize tour, I had the headphones on and listened to the final version of the album sequenced, mixed and mastered, and bugged out at how good it is. La Coka Nostra is a breath of fresh air in these days of contrived air brushed rap music. LCN isn't trying to gloss shit up in the least. They like it ugly and gritty, the way rap music should always be. Somewhere along the lines, people forgot about groups like the mighty Wu Tang Clan or Cypress Hill and the dirty raw aesthetic these groups had, but La Coka Nostra sure didn't. They embrace the darkness and the dirt and ain't afraid to be ugly with it.

LCN's music is a much needed return to the days of sex, drugs & rap 'n' roll. A sentiment that hasn't gone unnoticed by the groups growing legion of fans. La Coka rocks for the kids that dig hardcore punk rock and rap and don't give a fuck who knows about it.

Composed of members Ill Bill, Slaine, Everlast, DannyBoy, DJ Lethal, and Big Left, La Coka ain't rapping for the Hollywood set, even if you see them on the mean streets in the City Of Angels. The collective's individual accomplishments are enough to write a book on, but that's not important right now. The past is the past and LCN is all about the future.

The Coast-to-Coast collective is bringing that punch you in the jaw kind of rap music the world's been missing for too damn long right about now. La Coka Nostra speaks for the unspoken, the unseen and unrepresented legion of kids that need something to inspire and make them perspire. LCN is a hard right to the mouth, lyrical foot up the ass to the flossy set, and a musical pistol whipping the rap game hasn't unearthed in too long a time. In this day and age of songs about 24's and candy coated paint jobs, LCN is the stench of the mosh pit [that] rap music needs so badly right now in order to preserve it's vitality.
