Norma Jean Signs To Razor & Tie, New Album In 2010
November 6, 2009
Acclaimed post-hardcore xtian rockers Norma Jean
has signed with Razor & Tie
and plans a 2010 album release. The band will headline the "Explosions 2009
" US tour in late November through December. Norma Jean
will play their breakthrough album 'Bless The Martyr and Kiss the Child'
in its entirety on select dates. This is the band's first headlining trek since the Fall of last year and boasts an impressive lineup - Horse The Band
, The Chariot
and Arsonists Get All The Girls
- with a few surprises from the powerful live band. In January Norma Jean
will head into the studio to record a new album for a 2010 summer release.
of Norma Jean
comments, "If we didn't sign to Razor & Tie
, I think we would have gone on a killing spree, with no regard for life or limb. I think for the first time in our career, upon presenting our ideas, we get to hear the word "yes" more often. It's like discovering an unknown tribe on a distant island. Except we're the tribe and we don't know your language. Plus we have spears and swords and we're cannibals. Either way, we're insanely animated about R&T
showing up and want to try on their Nike Air Jordans."

Southern California’s metaphysical DIY badasses, HORSE the band
, have signed to Vagrant Records
. The oft-misunderstood band of horses is currently writing material for their fourth full-length with plans to enter the studio in March. A mid-summer release is expected.
“Finally we can breathe as humans breathe, walk as humans walk,” says vocalist Nathan Winneke
. “Band as horses band,” chimes in drummer Daniel Pouliot
. Keyboardist Erik Engstrom
comments, “Vagrant Records
has been home to so many of our favorite bands. Now (9, 8, and 7 years after I sent them our first, second, and third demos respectively) the label has renewed their holy vows to ‘excellence’ by signing us.”
HORSE the band

HORSE the band is five stellar gods running from a haunted past they can't possibly forget. Formed on the mean streets of Los Angeles after the birth of the new millenium the members of HORSE began to create their exotic sound to fight the past and create the future.
HORSE the band consists of Nathan the tormented poet beast on vocals, David the hyper-intelligent lover on guitar, Erik the child-like wizard of keyboards, Eli the cuddly smut-peddling gourmet on drums and Dash the gritty urban barbarian on bass.
HORSE the band's music has won them many accolades for energy and originality. Often referred to as 'nintendo-core' because of their spastic and glorious brutallity they prefer to strike out and create their own unique sounds each time they manifest their powers. Among their many achievements HORSE was listed as one of Alternative Press' Top 100 Bands to Watch in 2005. One thing is for certain - You will love them or you will pretend not to, but in the end you can not deny their prowess.
