The Hedrons To Open For Social Distortion
November 20, 2007
Scottish Indie rock band
The Hedrons return to the West coast at the end of November for a string of headlining gigs, intermixed with sold-out dates with
Social Distortion and
Guttermouth. Just one week prior, the all-female punk outfit will be guests of the seminal punk band,
Sex Pistols at the SECC Arena in their native Glasgow, Scotland. Sure...it's Ladies First, but
The Hedrons are anything but dainty - packing more ferocious power chords under their skirts than their brethren beneath their kilts.
With heatseeking drummer
Soup pacing the tempo, dueling guitarists
Rosie and
Tippi driving the melody,
Gill's bass work binds the sound weighty enough to support
Tippi's nihilistic vocals and
'Mean Girls' confident lyrics. Deemed "unashamedly authentic four-piece female rock and rollers" (
London's Daily Telegraph),who "simultaneously channel the rebellious rage of the
Runaways and the charming edge of
Veruca Salt," according to
Spin Magazine,
The Hedrons create music for rock fans that live by the mantra doubling as the title of the band's debut -
'One More Won't Kill Us'.
The new concert dates will be the last chance for audiences around the world to see
The Hedrons' aggressive and relentless live show in 2007, before the girls return to the studio to work on their follow-up album. With over 150 gigs throughout North America and Europe, including performances at the
SXSW festival in Austin, TX and
T In the Park festival in Kinross, Scotland, to say
The Hedrons played the world this year would be an understatement. The group's west coast tour dates are as follows:
