God Dethroned Re-Signs With Metal Blade
March 27, 2010
Highly distinguished Dutch death metal greats, God Dethroned, have recently released what is being heralded as one of the best albums of their long career in 'Passiondale'. On the heels of this release, Metal Blade has extended God Dethroned's contract yet again to continue putting out some of the most intense and unique death metal albums from one of the genre's best bands.

God Dethroned
will be campaigning across North America once again. This time, they'll be supporting Overkills' 25th Anniversary Killfest tour throughout April. The tour starts April 1st in Philadelphia at the Trocadero.

Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel
comments, "We are very happy to continue our long and great relationship with God Dethroned. We've been working with the band and Henri for over a decade and we look forward to more great music from them in the future!"

Henri Sattler
, God Dethroned guitarist and vocalist adds, "Once you're in it, you're in it for life, the head of Metal Blade in Europe once said to me. It was already a dream come true to sign our first deal with the label back in '97, and now 13 years later we just put our signature on our third contract with them. It's just as exciting as it was back then and we're very proud of earning their trust and support after all these years."

"We are halfway through the writing process for a new album, which we will record starting end of May. First, we'll play on the Killfest tour in the U.S. supporting Overkill together with label mates Woe of Tyrants and many other great bands. Abigail Williams' axeman Ian Jekelis will take over touring duties for Susan, with whom we parted ways last January. We will announce the name of our new shredder right before we play our first European festival in May."

God Dethroned's
video for "Poison Fog" from the 'Passiondale' album can be seen on now on www.MetalBlade.tv.

God Dethroned Announce 'War Propaganda World Tour 2009'
August 25, 2009
God Dethroned will be assaulting North America for the first time since 2007 on the headlining War Propaganda World Tour 2009 in support of their newest album, 'Passiondale'. Henri Sattler and co. will embark on the coast to coast campaign starting on September 30th. Joining the march will be Abigail Williams, Augury and label mates, Woe Of Tyrants. The tour is being sponsored by MetalSucks.net, SMNnews.com and MetalInjection.net. MetalSucks and SMNnews will be giving away some tickets to shows and MetalInjection will be posting video updates from God Dethroned as they tour across the US. Stay tuned for details as they become available.

Henri Sattler
comments on the tour: “Our "Storming the Balkans" tour which we did about a month ago was a test. A test to see if our new band members, Susan and Mike, would be the right people to have in the band for the long tour we have ahead of us. A new world tour starting on September 3rd in Brazil leading us through Peru, Ecuador and Colombia up to Mexico for the first leg of our "War Propaganda World Tour 2009". I'm happy to say that they passed the audition well. On the South American shows, we will be accompanied by Elexorien from Holland and in Colombia also Belphegor will make their appearance. The Mexican shows will be with Entombed, Vital Remains, Master and Lividity o.a.

The second leg of the tour starts on September 30th in Tucson, Arizona with Abigail Williams, Augury and label mates Woe of Tyrants and leads us through the States up to Canada. We are really excited to tour the U.S. again and to promote our latest album 'Passiondale', which was released last April. Our last show in the U.S. was in 2007 so we can't wait to see many of our fans again soon!

On October 21st, we head back to Europe for the third leg of our tour with Endstille and Hollenthon.

As some of you may have noticed already, Roel Sanders does not play drums in God Dethroned anymore. The amount of shows we're playing is much more than we expected and unfortunately Roel could not combine this with his private life and other activities anymore. It was hard to say goodbye to him, but we remain good friends as always. We have welcomed Michiel "Mike" van der Plicht as his replacement on the drum throne and we've already done a number of very successful shows with him. Now we look towards the future with confidence again. See you somewhere on tour."

God Dethroned
has also finished work on a new video for the track "Poison Fog," one of the most lyrically intense songs from 'Passiondale'. Keep an eye out for the video to debut sometime this September! 'Passiondale' is available everywhere now.

Augury Prep For North American Tour With God Dethroned
May 30, 2009
Ready to embark on their first tour of North America in September with Dutch death metallers God Dethroned, New York’s Abigail Williams, and Ohio’s Woe Of Tyrants in support of their Nuclear Blast debut, 'Fragmentary Evidence' (release date: August 11th), members of Montreal’s Augury check in from their rehearsal space in their hometown of Montreal with the following:

“It'll be exciting to spread our music to a larger audience in America,” states guitarist Mathieu Marcotte. “Even though we have never played there yet, we have a lot of fans who are waiting to see us live. The challenge is the same wherever you're playing: to put out your best every night while having fun.”

Drummer Antoine Baril adds: “There are so many great cities that I’ve always been dreaming to visit and it’s even better to know that we will play a show in each one of them. My biggest challenge is to get better and better as a musician at each show and spread energy to the crowd to share the endless passion I have for this music we play.”
“What we expect is a spiral of colliding human bodies, rotating as a single mass, yielding all that energy,” predicts vocalist & guitarist Patrick Loisel. “In the end, it'll be like Godzilla trampled your town!”

In addition to pledging multiple updates during the tour and answering all fan e-mails, Augury's self-described “Archive freak” (Baril) will be uploading video footage from the tour onto the band’s MySpace site.

Complete tour dates are as follows:
09/30 - The Rock – Tucson, AZ

God Dethroned's 'Passiondale' Now Streaming Online
April 26, 2009
God Dethroned's new album, ‘Passiondale', is available for full stream in its entirety on MetalSucks.net. Less than one week left until God Dethroned's magnum opus will be unleashed. All those who can't wait any longer can now head over to MetalSucks.net where the album will be streamed in its entirety until its release!

Mainman Henri Sattler goes a bit in-depth about the musical direction of the new masterpiece 'Passiondale'; “In contradiction to the previous album, 'Passiondale' is a lot more extreme and furious also because of the return of Roel Sanders on drums, but still with the typical melodic parts which make the band sound unique among the competition. Roel played on ‘Grand Grimoire' and ‘Bloody Blasphemy' as well. Albums that were dominated by blast beats, brutal riffing but also many hymnic parts.

It seemed the most logical thing to do, to go back to our early sound, so also Danny Servaes who played keyboards on aforementioned albums participated again and added that touch of mystique which made the songs even more special. The grimness of the war is reflected in the songs and the atmosphere creates a feeling of listening to the soundtrack of a war movie.”

'Passiondale' will be released on Tuesday April 28th in the US.

HOME TOWN: Netherlands
Henri "T.S.K." Sattler - Vocals/Guitars
Susan Gerl - Guitars
Henk "Henke" Zinger - Bass
Roel Sanders - Drums

GOD DETHRONED was formed by mainman Henri Sattler in 1990. After one demo they released their debut album “The Christhunt” in 1992 on a tiny German label. Due to problems with the other band members and the record company, Henri decided to split the band. He then formed Ministry Of Terror, a Thrash Metal band, and released the “Fall Of Life” album with them in 1994. After a European tour Henri left the band and re-formed GOD DETHRONED. With new band members and better songs in his back, Henri and the new GOD DETHRONED recorded “The Grand Grimoire” and inked a deal with Metal Blade. Many successful tours followed in Europe, the U.S. and Japan with great Death and Black Metal acts like Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Immortal, and Marduk, just to name a few.

In the meantime most of the renowned festivals were played: Dynamo Open Air, Wacken, Graspop and Summer Breeze. However, not everything went smooth. Drummer Roel Sanders left the band after the US tour promoting “Bloody Blasphemy”. Nile’s Tony Laureano played on the “Ravenous” album, but couldn’t stay for obvious reasons. Janne from The Crown played on the tour and finally new drummer Ariën van Weesenbeek came in, whose first recording experience with the band was “Into the Lungs of Hell”. This album was received very well by the press around the globe and again the band toured around Europe and played more festivals like Party San and Summer Breeze.

The time following the release of “Into the Lungs of Hell” was one of the most difficult periods in the band’s history. The band had been together so long that the individual band members had developed new views on life and the band. Somehow the challenge was gone. At a certain point Beef and Jens decided to leave. The remaining band members Henri and Arien wrote a new album, “The Lair of the White Worm”, based on a novel by Bram Stoker. New band members Isaac Delahaye and Henk Zinger joined the band right before the recordings. After the release the band played numerous shows and festivals like the Summer Breeze and With Full Force, headlining tours in Europe and the U.S. as well as support slots for bands such as The Haunted and Bolt Thrower.

In between tours the band worked on a new album and went straight into the studio after the European tour with Bolt Thrower. Two months later The Toxic Touch was a fact. After the release of the album the band will start an extensive touring program again. Not only in Europe and the U.S. but also South America is on the list this time. Be prepared, because the infection is about to begin!
