Filter Set To Release Remix Album
October 21, 2008
Multi-Platinum, politically-fueled rockers, Filter, will be releasing a remix album featuring brand new takes on various tracks from their latest release, 'Anthems For The Damned'. The 'Remixes For The Damned' album will be in stores on November 4 – just in time for the Presidential Election!

Filter’s first independently released album, 'Anthems for the Damned', is a pro-troops, anti-war statement that also tackles the need to look around at the state of things and what kind of world we are leaving to our children. Making a return to his industrial roots, Richard Patrick feels that some of these songs could benefit from an industrial feel. Patrick states, “I love the way Anthems sounds, but I just wanted to try something new. I’ve been living with the tracks for the past year and half so I felt it would be interesting to get a different take on some of these songs.”

Set for a digital-only release, the new album features remakes of select songs on Anthems by Richard Patrick, Mitch Marlow, John Spiker, Clayton W (Revolting Cocks, Ministry), Timmy the Terror Anderson (Ima Robot), Rae DiLeo (Producer, Engineer for Filter), Ben Wise (Producer), Ryan Williams, Carlos Villalobos and John O’Brien. The release will be available all over the web, for specific outlets please see

Opiate For The Masses Unleash 'Manifesto', Announce Tours
July 10, 2008
The wait is finally over, as the leaders of the new hard rock revolution, Opiate For The Masses,’ latest full length opus, 'Manifesto', is now available everywhere. The release of 'Manifesto' follows a hugely successful tour with Filter and 10 Years, which wraps up in LA this weekend. This leads the band immediately into a string of headlining radio dates before they join back up with Filter for a short direct support run. In August, the band will be featured on the GrindCo. Sports Tour, which also features Sevendust, Drowning Pool and Nonpoint.

The group’s first single entitled, “Burn You Down,” is currently #45 on the Active Rock Chart and climbing. A striking video for the track was shot by acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, Helmet), and its explosive content will literally and figuratively blow you away! Head over to the band's Myspace page now to check it out.

Critical acclaim is coming in for the band’s music: “This album would make a vampire grin with his pearly white fangs,” says The Cleveland Leader and Playback adds; “Opiate For The Masses is, in my humble opinion, one of the hottest rising bands.”

Hot Topic has announced a limited edition two disc version of 'Manifesto' to be sold exclusively through their stores nationwide. The set will be sold at a special introductory price ($7.99) and will feature a second disc filled with three, new exclusive tracks not available anywhere else.

'Manifesto' was recorded by two Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producers: Ulrich Wild (Slipknot, Deftones) and John Travis (Kid Rock, Buckcherry). The new offering is a propulsive mix of sheer hard rock aggression, soaring melodies and electronic experimentation that could be best described as Alice In Chains meets Nine Inch Nails.

The group’s talents and determination are also well respected by their peers as Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) states: “Opiate For The Masses...I think they're going to be big.” agrees – having debuted their video and a new interview with the group recently to herald the album’s release, which can be viewed below. Filter Announces First Tour In Six Years
April 16, 2008
As they prepare to release their new CD 'Anthems For The Damned' on May 13 via Pulse Recordings, Filter have announced their first tour in nearly six years. The first leg of this U.S. trek--a mix of headlining shows, radio festivals and special engagements--begins April 24 at Stubb's in Austin, Texas, to be followed by three June shows overseas in Germany and the U.K. Earlier this month, Filter made a special appearance for the troops in Kuwait when they performed at the March 10 Operation MySpace concert.

During this tour, Filter will be previewing songs from 'Anthems For The Damned' alongside such Filter classics as "Hey Man, Nice Shot," "Take a Picture" and
others. 'Anthems For The Damned'--produced by Pulse Recording head Josh Abraham--features the first single "Soldiers of Misfortune"; its been one of the most added tracks on the active and alternative radio charts the past two weeks with airplay on stations such as KDGE (Dallas), KTBZ (Houston), Q101 (Chicago), KPNT (St. Louis), WBCN (Boston), KQRC (Kansas City), KXXR (Minneapolis), WEBN (Cincinnati) and WBUZ (Nashville), to name a few. Patrick describes the soaring anthem--with its U2/Bowie flavor and stacked backdrop of buzzing electric guitars--as a "sardonic anti-war/pro-troops song." The first-person narrative was inspired by a letter from a Filter fan who had enlisted in the Army reserves to get his college tuition paid. In his final year of college, he was shipped off to Iraq where he died from a rocket attack and small arms fire after just a few days of duty.
