Eyes Set To Kill's Alexia Rodriguez Releases New Video For 'Let Me In'
October 25, 2010
Eyes Set To Kill's frontwoman Alexia Rodriguez has posted the video for the song "Let Me In" from her new solo album "Lexia: Underground Sounds". "Lexia: Underground Sounds" features Lexia re-recording acoustic versions of Eyes Set To Kill classics, along with a cover of Radiohead's "Climbing Up The Walls" and all new material that takes Lexia in a whole new direction.

"This song was written out of frustration of my inner artist. I really try to paint all of my emotions and feelings out on canvas, and when people can't see it or don't let it in, it makes me feel insecure and lost in a shallow world,"commented LEXIA to AltPress.com about the track. I'm one of those people who loves to rip songs apart and dissect them to analyze and truly understand their meanings. A lot of musicians are the same way, and I wish everyone could care as much as we do."

Rodriguez wants fans to see a different side of her with the release of her debut solo album, "Lexia: Underground Sounds". Dark, atmospheric indie pop, and extremely melodic, "Lexia; Underground Sounds" plays to Rodriguez's strengths as a songwriter. Unshackled from the expectations of fans and the confines of her bandmates, it's here that she flourishes and blossoms with confidence as a vocalist and artist, to evoke comparisons to Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, and Radiohead's Thom Yorke.

EYES SET TO KILL's frontwoman Alexia Rodriguez (a.k.a. Lexia) has set an October 12, 2010 release date for her new solo album, "Lexia: Underground Sounds". The CD will include acoustic versions of classic EYES SET TO KILL tracks, a cover of RADIOHEAD's "Climbing Up The Walls", and new material that takes Lexia in a whole new direction. Lexia is currently streaming an acoustic version of the song "Reach" online at http://www.subnoizestore.com/Lexia-Underground-Sounds-p/bre194.htm.

"When I'm on the road, I have nothing but time on my hands, so for the most part I'm always trying to find something constructive to kill the time," Lexia commented. "The songs I write on the road are mellow and chilled, which don't necessarily work as EYES SET TO KILL songs."I try to write songs in different styles and genres and just demo them for myself. "I never thought about putting out a solo album, but my manager heard them and freaked out saying, 'These are amazing, you have to release them!' At first I was nervous and wondering what my band would think, but they were super-supportive of the idea."

Eyes Set To Kill Premiere New Song On AOL's Noisecreep
May 6, 2010
Because I've been asked more times than I care to count, I have to say that I don't care for bands that promote their xtian beliefs through 'secular' music, nor do I agree with every single bit of hype that is presented in any given press release. I'm just bringing you the news that most of you may (or may not) care to read about... Now having said that, here's the latest on Xtian rockers, Eyes Set To Kill...

Forget all that nonsense about Eyes Set to Kill boasting the hottest metal chicks in sisters Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez, whose singing is accompanied by guitar and bass playing, respectively. The girls and their band mates deliver the metal goods on 'The Listening,' a brand new song from their new album 'Broken Frames', an album so aggressive that it should lay to rest any notions that girls can't hang.

Or in this case, play! Noisecreep is premiering the exclusive stream for "The Listening," which deftly illustrates the Phoenix band's ability to rip and snort like demons all the while keeping our attention with clean melodies. But despite the song's bluster, it holds a beautiful lyrical sentiment, doubling its impact.

Check out "The Listening" at http://www.noisecreep.com/2010/05/03/eyes-set-to-kill-the-listening-song-premiere/

"'The Listening' captivates every ounce of faith I lost in God during the darkest times I felt like I could only count on hope," Alexia told Noisecreep about the personal nature of the song. "Sometimes, I get let down by something I prayed so hard for and it causes me to lose my strength and beliefs. Since I firmly believe that lot of people only pray when they need something that is hard to reach on their own, I thought writing "The Listening" would be an interesting way to make people think about why they really believe in God and if they are faithful for the right reasons."

'Broken Frames'
is due out June 8 through Break Silence Records. Pre-order your copy at this location.

Eyes Set To Kill To Release 'Broken Frames' June 8th
April 19, 2010
With the release of their highly anticipated third album, everyone is watching Eyes Set To Kill. The Phoenix based group has quickly become one of the most talked about groups in the scene after their two previous efforts garnered significant critical acclaim. With 'Broken Frames' due out June 8th via Break Silence Records, Eyes Set To Kill has recorded their most aggressive album to date.

âWeâre excited for fans to finally get a chance to hear material from our new record,â says Eyes Set to Kill front woman Alexia Rodriguez. âThis record is quite a bit heavier than our last two albums, but I think fans will love it. Weâve already been playing some new songs while on tour and fans have been going crazy every night.â

Recorded at Wade Studios in Ocala, FL with producer Andrew Wade, 'Broken Frames' takes the sparkling melodic prowess that Eyes Set To Kill has become known for, and shows the band stepping outside of their comfort zone to create the next chapter in their growing musical evolution.

"Andrew Wade is really the first producer that ever challenged us as a band and took us out of our comfort zone. He made us try things that we probably wouldn't have done in the past," Rodriguez said. "Andrew had me try a lot of different things and he was the one that suggested I try singing an octave higher for this record, which really helped me try and find my voice as a vocalist."

Eyes Set To Kill's first album was the release of their 2008 debut 'Reach', and the band wasted no time recording a sophomore album and released 'The World Outside' in 2009. The album received widespread critical acclaim and the group was plugged on the front page of USA Today, as one of Alternative Press Magazine's "100 Bands You Need To Know", and hosted an episode of MTV2âs Headbangers Ball. In early 2010 Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez were nominated for a Revolver Magazine Golden Gods Award in the "Hottest Chicks In Metal" category alongside some of the biggest names in hard rock and metal.

Eyes Set To Kill will be appearing all summer long on the 2010 Vans Warped Tour, along side Alkaline Trio, Dropkick Murphys, Every Time I Die, and more.

Eyes Set To Kill

Every few years, music needs afacelift.  And like a phoenix, its saviorrises from the stale ashes of the newly dead scene to revitalize fans with afresh sound.  The new phoenix rises fromTempe, Arizona under the moniker EyesSet to Kill.  Set to release Reach their debut effort on BreakSilenceRecords on February 19, 2008, Eyes Setto Kill is poised to make a serious dent in the music industry throughtheir online presence and gritty do it yourself road dog mentality.

Formed in 2004 by sisters Alexia andAnissa Rodriguez, Eyes Set to Kill have moved forward with huge strides quicklyand not so quietly over the past three and a half years. Joining Alexia(vocals, lead guitar, piano) and Anissa (bass) and rounding out the five-piece arescreamer and synth keyboardist Brandon Anderson, second guitarist Greg Kerwinand drummer Caleb Clifton.

Eyes Set toKill
have sold more than 11,000 copies of their EP When Silence is Broken The Night Is Torn and DVD, A Day With Eyes Set to Kill combined, with the former reaching #2 and the latter #1 on the popular online retailersmartpunk.com and limited retail availability.

Eyes Set to Kill built their solid reputation throughaggressive online marketing and constant fan interaction.  Marked as MySpace’s number one unsigned bandfor more than ten months, and landing in the top ten of all independent bands, Eyes Set to Kill successfully bookedtheir first tour through the popular web site. Since their first trek across America, they have supported platinumselling artists Papa Roach, (hed)p.e., Kittie, hardcore pioneers Walls of Jericho and the up and coming In This Moment as well as playedvarious stints on the Vans Warped Tour in 2006.

While the ‘zona based five piececontrasts melodic vocals with screams, the intent was never to follow a formulathat previously worked for other bands. Rather, they wanted to add unique elements.  “We didn’t want to be just another screamoband, we wanted to do something different,” comments Alexia on the band’s formation.  “We wanted to have the same kind of passionand fire that the bands we loved had, but still have our own sound.”  And one listen to Reach further punctuates Alexia’s remarks.

As can be expected, Reach exhibits a more mature Eyes Set to Kill – more mature in itssongwriting and its lyrics.  As theprimary lyricist, Alexia tackles themes such as frustration and anxiety, relationships, isolation and correcting one’s past.  Alexia shows a woman well beyond her youngyears throughout Reach; she shows asongwriter that writes differently than the rest, pushing boundaries lyricallywhen possible.

“Only Holding On,” for example, is a battlebetween Alexia’s outer self and her conscience shown through the song’s verses, while the chorus is a third voice, her band, trying to ground her once again inthe real reasons she performs music.

Lights dim down we're the stars tonightour voices bring slight wind to the sky. (Their voices sing along.) Feel theirsouls lift with ours as they share the night. But you sing a different song.

"Young Blood Spills Tonight,” deals with thepain of divorce told from the perspectives of Alexia and her mother.

Sipmy blood till there's no blood left to spill from my neck. I'm embraced by aconcealed grip I welcomed in my arms.

Rife with conflict and juxtaposing thatconflict with promise, Reach is not ateenage angst-ridden twenty first century response to the Seattle scene of thenineties.  And it’s more than a teenagecoming of age story.  Reach is the world’s welcome to a youngband with a fresh voice.  “The album issymbolic of what we want to achieve with our music.  Most of the songs are about overcoming theobstacles that everyone faces in life. We hope that our music reaches out to the listener and can help themovercome some of the same issues that we’ve had to deal with in our lives,”Alexia notes, pointing to the more promising themes in the music.  “We want to let people know that they canrise above the problems they face in their life; if our music can be thatcatalyst in someone’s life then that’s amazing.”

Listen to the record, analyze thelyrics, and go see Eyes Set to Killlive.  They won’t disappoint.
