Kataklysm Frontman Launches Pizzeria In Chicago
May 6, 2010
In addition to having just been announced as one of the Second Stage acts on Ozzfest 2010, Kataklysm frontman has been keeping busy with another business venture: opening a pizzeria. States Mauricio Iacono:

"Growing up in an Italian family, you always know someone that owns a pizza joint. My father was a head chef in New York, so I kind of grew up with it as well. I chose the path of music, but somehow the restaurant business has come to find me. I've decided to open a pizzeria with a very good friend of mine, Saverio Donancricchia. His family has been in the pizza business for over 20 years in Chicago with Albano's Pizzeria in Cicero. They've ranked as a Top 10 Chowdown Joints on "Top 101 Places in America" by The Travel Channel, so needless to say, opening the #2 location has been keeping us very busy!!! We like to welcome all metalheads to come by Albano's Pizzeria #2 and try our world famous giant pizza puffs! Bring in your Chicago-area concert ticket for any national tour and receive a discount on your order. Looking forward to unleashing the new Kataklysm album plus all the killer tours coming up with both Kataklysm and Ex Deo."

Ex Deo 'The Final War' Video Trailer Posted Online
March 7, 2010
Ex Deo, the Ancient Roman themed arsenal lead by Kataklysm frontman Maurizio Iacono, have released a teaser for their upcoming video "The Final War (Battle of Actium)" which can be viewed below. The song also features a guest solo appearance from Karl Sanders of Nile. The clip will be released on March 15 (Ides of March) in honour of the god of war, Mars.

Vocalist Maurizio Iacono recently stated about the video:
"After much discussion with the director Ivan Collic we decided to go with 'The Final War (Battle Actium)' as the next video clip for 'Romulus'. I love the song 'In Her Dark Embrace', which was initially the planned video track, but we've decided to bring the whole production one step higher and film 'The Final War (Battle Actium)'. The story line is amazing for this song and we will be able to capture not only Roman battle scenes and all the blood you want, but also the true story behind the war that turned Rome from a republic into an Empire. We're going full force with this one!"

The video clip for the track "Romulus" can be viewed below as well.

Hypocrisy Experiencing Trouble With U.S. Immigration
November 6, 2009
Legendary Swedish death metallers Hypocrisy have issued the following statement in regards to their upcoming tour with Ensiferum that starts on Friday, November 6th:

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are forced to stay home until U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services process and authorize our working visas. This is the first time the band has faced a situation like this and it’s extremely frustrating, as well as depressing, since the last thing we want to do is disappoint our loyal fans who have waited years to see us live in the US. We filed for our visas with plenty of time, but as some probably don’t know, the US government has changed its rules when it comes to visas issued to artists so it’s become tougher. Even if we have already toured the US numerous times.

As it stands now, we are on stand-by mode and waiting to receive the green light. We hope it’s just a few days before that happens, in the meantime we want to apologize to all the fans that planned on going to see us tear shit up live. We will do our best to re-join the tour as soon as possible!”

have enlisted the help of Children Of Bodom guitarist/frontman Alexi Laiho to temporarily fill the vacant 2nd guitarist spot on their tour alongside Ensiferum, Ex Deo, Blackguard and Swashbuckle.
