Heaven Shall Burn Issues Year End Update
December 18, 2008
German metalcore titans, Heaven Shall Burn, have issued the following year end update via the band's Official Myspace Page:

"An eventful year is ending! Hey folks, we just came back from Persistence Tour 2008 and it has just been amazing - great bands, tons of old and new friends met and many many packed and sold out shows! Thanks to everybody for making this possible and of course thanks to YOU in first place for supporting us on this tour!!! We already confirmed a few shows and festivals for 2009, so have a look at the show section. Please do not give up hope if HSB is not confirmed for a festival in your country or area so far – there will be a lot more to come within the next months!

1. First news is very special: Our Bass player Eric is now father of a little girl named Milla and believe me - she is just as beautiful as her name is. Congratulations Eric!!!

2. After the Persistence tour Alex and Maik headed straight to Denmark to mix tracks for our upcoming live DVD. Work is done as we speak and from what we hear so far it will be awesome – expect a well produced but not a too polished sound, we really managed to save HSBs raw live energy, that was very important to us. Mix is done by nobody less than Mr. Tue Madsen!

3. There is also a whole new HSB merch-collection available, go to our online shop and have a look!

4. Here are some fresh pictures from the Persistence Tour.

Heaven Shall Burn made their first trip over to the U.S. earlier this year, headlining a bill that also included Embrace The End and The Ghost Inside. No plans for future U.S. dates have been announced.

Heaven Shall Burn's latest album, 'Iconoclast: Pt. 1 (The Final Resistance)', was released on February, 5, 2008 via Century Media. The video for the track, "Endzeit" can be viewed below. Also, check out Loudside's exclusive interview with guitarist Alex Dietz at this location.

Embrace The End Announces Spring Touring Schedule
April 16, 2008
An all-too metal meeting of the minds was arranged earlier in the year in an unknown location in the California mountains. Northern California’s Embrace The End and Arsonists Get All The Girls were among those in attendance. Despite the exchange of party favors and a stirring rendition of “Kumbaya,” very little of substance was accomplished. However, there was an undeniable chemistry circulating amongst the members involved, and it was decided upon by unanimous vote that these brave men would take it upon themselves to spread mid-year cheer to a destitute nation in dire need of a sonic beatdown. With Carnifex, Conducting From the Grave and Broadcast the Nightmare in tow, Embrace The End and Arsonists Get All The Girls will deliver said beatdown with unbridled fury.

Embrace The End’s Century Media debut, 'Ley Lines', is also now available. The band holed up with producer du jour Zach Ohren (All Shall Perish, As Blood Runs Black, Arsonists Get All the Girls) and gave Paul Romano (Mastodon, Trivium) artistic license to get his paint on. If you were with the band in their Abacus days for 'Counting Hallways to the Left' then you know how deft this band can be in melding technical death metal, grind and hardcore. Obviously, the bases are covered on this one, and you can run them yourself as the entire album is streaming at the band’s new E-card.

Embrace The End are currently on tour with Heaven Shall Burn and The Ghost Inside. This is Heaven Shall Burn’s first tour of the states, and the band is honored to be direct support. Soon afterward they join Animosity, First Blood and For the Fallen Dreams for a quick run leading into this month-long trek with Carnifex and company. AGATG are also on tour and will be hitting Florida soon before heading north with Impending Doom and Sea of Treachery for dates that end two weeks before their run with Embrace The End.

Embrace The End: New Album Details, New Track, Tour Dates
February 29, 2008
Sacramento deathcore unit, Embrace The End, have returned with their sophomore album, 'Ley Lines', which was produced by the acclaimed Zach Ohren (As Blood Runs Black, Arsonists Get All The Girls) with artwork courtesy of Paul Romano (Mastodon, Trivium). 'Ley Lines' is set for an April 15th release and the new track “Denim On Denim Hate Crime” can now be streamed at the band's Official Myspace page. The page now features a new theme reflecting the album’s cover art.

Jesse Alford (vocals) states: “We are absolutely thrilled that this record is coming out on Century Media. The CM family has had out back for a few years now and after working our asses off by making the most boss album imaginable, it feels good. Century Media is a legendary label and we feel privileged to be a part of it. Working with Zach Ohren was the smartest choice we could have made and coupling that with the amazing artwork that Paul Romano created, is a record we can fully stand behind. Expect to see us everywhere in 2008 and we look forward to seeing you all soon.”

Heaven Shall Burn Shoot New Video
February 28, 2008
German metalcore titans Heaven Shall Burn have hit the ground running with the release of their brand new album 'Iconoclast (Part One: The Final Resistance)'. The band enjoyed their best begining weeks of sales in the United States to date with their February 5th release. This album is picking up speed and promises to be one of the hardest hitting releases of 2008. 'Iconoclast (Part One: The Final Resistance)' builds upon the momentum their previous United States release entitled 'Antigone' had, selling over 20,000 copies and amassing a wide spectrum of fans across the globe.

The band has also just released a brand new video for their single "Endzeit" that is being serviced to MTV and FUSE and can now be viewed below.

While filming the clip with director Philipp Hirsch, the band was temporarily arrested during their subversive activities. Guitarist Maik Weichert explains: "While we were shooting the video for 'Endzeit', me and Marcus were dressed as service technicians and installed several cameras in the pedestrian and other public areas of Leipzig's city centre. Of course it was fake cameras, but they looked pretty real. While we were preparing the observation of the local branch office of a well-known fast food company, four police officers approached us and asked us what we were doing.

Apparently worried citizens had called the cops, telling them something suspicious was going on. I asked them if those 'worried citizens' really meant us, as there are many suspicious people walking around in the city of Leipzig! One of the policemen thought this was funny, another was seriously pissed off and the remaining two cops did not seem to get the joke, I think. Afterwards they got a little rougher and threatened to take us into custody. We were basically left with two options: Either we could shoot them down and bail, or simply solve the situation by showing them the camera man's press card, [which is] what we eventually did.

After the officers had contacted the police station and double-checked with their chief, they let us go. Of course we were smart enough to secretly film the incident, and it will always be a highly entertaining part of our private video collection. Unfortunately, we can not post it, but anyway once again we were almost arrested, but you have to take risks if you want to be metal!"

Visit the brand-new "Iconoclast" microsite for more information and a clip from the Wacken Open Air 2007 show, which is available in its entirety on the bonus DVD of the aforementioned limited edition. Make sure to also pick up a copy of Guitar Magazine and see Heaven Shall Burn's guitarists featured on the cover!!

Heaven Shall Burn will be making their way to the U.S. for the first time later this spring, on their headlining tour in support of their latest album, 'Iconoclast (Part One: The Final Resistance)'. EMBRACE THE END are a deadly five-headed beast bent on eradicating all those who so carelessly use the words "brutal" and “heavy” to describe other bands’ music. Once subjected to the apocalyptic abandon these Sacramento natives churn forth, it’s clear they’re going to be annihilating the audience and their contemporaries alike. With a sound inspired by both metal and hardcore alike, EMBRACE THE END prove to be uncompromising in aggression and unmatched in their sound.

Using a deft fusion of scathing blast beats amid a torrent of seismic breakdowns their musicianship is supreme and devastating. After one listen to their sophomore album, Ley Lines, it’s made clear that EMBRACE THE END are unrelenting in all facets from their destructive music to their lyrics and vision. Fusing with the band’s technical prowess is their vocal bombardment, hitting the listener with a myriad of vocal stylings from all across the board, backed by enough desperation to bring attention from even the most calloused bystander. With a style that relies heavily on melody and groove but doesn’t fail to kick your ass when you least expect it (think deathcore with soul), Embrace the End also has the content that seems to be lacking in most contemporaries.

Spending a majority of time in 2005 and 2006 on the road with bands like The Warriors, Bleeding Through, Through The Eyes of The Dead and Blacklisted, the band quickly gained momentum in the underground metal and hardcore scene. Their debut Counting Hallways To The Left got everyone’s attention and now with a new and revamped lineup, they are poised to showcase what it means to play with intelligence and passion.

2008 finds Embrace The End with it’s most focused and intense agenda possible. Their sophomore release titled "Ley Lines" is set to come out April 15th on Century Media Records and EMBRACE THE END stands poised to conquer the US and the rest of the world, or what is left of it.
