Winds Of Plague Announce Details For 'Never Say Die' Tour
December 16, 2009
Symphonic Blackmetalcore titans, Winds Of Plague, continue their extensive worldwide touring schedule in support of the highly acclaimed 'The Great Stone War' in 2010 with another headliner dubbed the Never Say Die! Tour. This massive, month-long trek, which kicks off on Jan. 23rd, also features labelmates Despised Icon alongside For Today, Stray From The Path and The World We Knew. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/windsofplague to view their complete touring itinerary.

Johnny (vocals) further states: "We have just passed the halfway mark on 'The California Love' tour and already the tour has proven to be a massive success, as well as a very memorable moment in Winds Of Plague history. This has been our first sole headliner, which is nerve racking in itself, but the WOP Soldiers have been strong in numbers and have been some of the most insane shows we have played to date. It's been awesome to get back into some smaller clubs that we have played while we were coming up and re-visit our roots. This tour also marks the debut of keyboardist Alana Potocnik to the band. Alana's positive attitude and hungry work ethic is a breath of fresh air, with her talent and creative writing abilities new material will be nothing short of epic. With our return to Southern California for the December Decimation Fest still on the horizon, 'The California Love' tour will go down in our history as some of the best times of our lives and we thank our fans for making it all possible.

"We look forward to taking some time off for the holidays and then 2010 is the year of WOP. It all starts with another headliner as we prepare for the Never Say Die! Tour in January with the mighty Despised Icon, For Today and Stray From The Path. We promise you it will be a night to remember, so check out our Myspace page and be sure to come out, get sweaty and party your ass off. See you all soon."

Alex Erian
(Despised Icon vocalist) follows: "We've played some of our favourite shows ever on the last two Never Say Die tours in Europe and are stoked to be part of its first annual US edition. We haven't toured with Winds Of Plague in over 2 years already. It'll be good to hang out and rock out with those dudes again! Can't wait to be back in the U.S. See you guys soon!"

Marco Walzel of Avocado Booking comments: "We really wanted to create an exciting tour package; that is why we created and developed the Never Say Die brand. We wanted a tour that could feature the most diverse and powerful bands from all over the world under one banner. Its focus has always been about the music, the bands and the lifestyle that comes hand in hand with the more aggressive side of the punk rock and metal spectrum. It's never sought to lose touch with its core audience and we've always strived to give great value for money to some of the most mind blowing packages that we could possibly put together. It's been a big success for us, growing and growing in Europe over the past few years and we're really excited at where NSD is heading, with the new year giving way to its first overseas appearance in the USA."

Winds Of Plague
has changed the landscape of heavy music upon release of their highly acclaimed, vicious new album, 'The Great Stone War', which made an impressive debut in its first week landing at #73 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The new offering is going to quickly propel the band to the forefront of the American metal scene and serve as a much needed wake up call to the genre.

Despised Icon Unleash New Album, Kick Off Headline Tour
September 24, 2009
Brutally intense, unrelenting and outright savage are just a few ways the metal community will describe the new offering from Montreal’s hottest export, Despised Icon, as their new full-length effort, 'Day of Mourning' is a true lesson in violence. This unrelenting new offering is now available everywhere. The material contained on this disc should come bearing a caution label stating “Is known to evoke extreme, erratic and violent tendencies coupled with a desire to kill.”

All of you DI fanatics out there can rejoice as the band will be embarking on a massive North American headlining tour this fall with Through The Eyes of The Dead, ABACABB and Molotov Solution. This Lambgoat.com sponsored “Day of Mourning Tour” kicks off on Sept. 24th. See below or visit the band’s newly revamped MySpace page in order to view their complete touring itinerary.

Alex Erian
(vocals) further states: “We can’t begin to possibly describe how proud we are of this new album. It’s basically composed of every element we created on our previous offerings, but refined to perfection to make it deadlier and more crushing than ever before. This material is about as fast and precise as we could possibly make it without killing ourselves and we are so excited to hear fans’ reactions. This album is the definitive release of our career and you can definitely expect to hear a good amount of it on our upcoming headlining North American tour that kicks off this week. We are going to perform an hour plus set each night, so be sure to bring you’re A-game because it’s going to be a long entertaining night. We hope to see you all soon and be sure to stop by the merch booth to say hello. Hell yeah.”

The group recently shot a new conceptual video for the album’s vicious title track, “Day of Mourning,” and it’s definitely not your traditional metal video clip. The video was shot with famed Montreal hip hop video producers, Kartel Film. Expect to see cemetaries, fancy cars, 40 ozs, scene sluts and a double dose of brutality. Head over to www.myspace.com/despisedicon now or see below to check it out.

Despised Icon
brought on board an all-star team for the 'Day of Mourning' recording process. They joined back up with longtime producer (and former guitar player) Yannick St-Amand for all tracking duties with renowned producer Andreas Magnusson (Black Dahlia Murder, Born of Osiris) entering the fold to mix the effort, with mastering being handled by Alan Douches (Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Nile).

The Montreal death metalcore six-piece DESPISED ICON was formed in January 2002 by members of Neuraxis, In Dying Days and Heaven?s Cry. The group?s first album, Consumed By Your Poison, was released in October 2002 on Galy Records and quickly sent shockwaves throughout the underground metal community. From that moment on, the DI crew played countless shows, unleashing its brutal mixture of death metal and metalcore until it suffered a loss by the middle of 2003.

Replenished with a new vocalist and drummer in January 2004, DI recorded its Syndicated Murderers EP a month later and established itself furthermore as one of the most promising Canadian metal acts. January 2005 proved to be a turning point in the young band?s career as it marked the release of it?s split CD on Relapse Records with Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus and the signing of a worldwide deal with Century Media Records.

DESPISED ICON?s highly anticipated sophomore release, The Healing Process, produced by guitarist Yannick St-Amand (Ion Dissonance, Neuraxis), mixed by J-F Dagenais (Misery Index, Kataklysm) and mastered by Alan Douches (Shadows Fall, Dillinger Escape Plan) is currently set for an April 5th release on Century Media. The DI crew plans on touring as much as possible in 2005. Expect breakdowns as brutal as a kick-in-the-face.
