Slipknot Announce U.S. Tour Dates
November 26, 2008
Grammy-award winning modern metallers Slipknot announced today their first U.S. headline tour in support of their #1 album 'All Hope Is Gone'. The tour, which kicks off on January 23rd in St. Paul, MN, will hit 33 cities across the country, and include an historic stop at New York’s Madison Square Garden, a first for the band. Coheed and Cambria and labelmates Trivium round out the bill.

Frontman Corey Taylor says of the trek, “2009 is the 10 year anniversary of the world’s first taste of this band. To celebrate we are coming back out with a killer tour, a couple great bands and the same ferocity with which we attack life. We want all of our maggots to come and celebrate with us, because if it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have been here for 10 years. Get ready for chaos!”

A special iTunes presale will start on December 3 and will be open to those who took part in the band’s digital album presale earlier this year. Internet presales via Ticketmaster, will commence on December 5, and the majority of dates will go on sale December 6.

The All Hope Is Gone World Tour marks Slipknot’s first headline run in America since the release of the album in August. The band is currently playing to sold out arenas on the other side of the globe; including stops in Russia, Japan, Australia, Europe and wrapping in the United Kingdom with three sold-out nights at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Preceding 'All Hope Is Gone’s #1 debut, the band held the headline slot on this summer’s sold-out inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, which drew the biggest crowds to a metal festival since Slipknot played Ozzfest in 2004.

The latest single from 'All Hope Is Gone', “Dead Memories” is quickly climbing the charts at rock radio with current positions at top 20 at Active rock and top 40 at Modern Rock. The video, directed by P.R. Brown and Slipknot's M. Shawn Crahan, is in Elite 8 rotation at MTV2 and sitting at #3 on Fuse's Viewer Choice Countdown.

To celebrate the tour, Hard Drive, hosted by Lou Brutus will be airing a Slipknot All Hope is Gone World Tour Special from December 3rd-6th on radio stations all across the country. The special will feature exclusive live tracks from their current tour as well as candid interviews and other surprises.

The band has also launched a new website, to coincide with the launch of the tour. All pre-sale and onsale information will be made available there.

Coheed And Cambria Cause Commotion At Univ. Of Kansas
October 25, 2007
Faux-prog Emo rockers Coheed & Cambria caused quite the commotion at the University of Kansas this week. Following a number of dorm windows being shot out a set of cryptic symbols were found spray painted throughout the campus with the date 10/23/07 underneath it.

Rumors began to spread on the Universitys campus that another shooting was coming on Tuesday (10/23/07). The campus police were swamped with phone calls and questions about the impending violence. Fortunately, the graffiti symbols popping up all over campus were to promote Coheed & Cambrias release of their latest album 'No World For Tomorrow'. The police eventually ruled out anything else as pure coincidence.

The Dillinger Escape Plan Discusses Drummer Change
July 14, 2007
Chris Harris of reports: Last month, when The Dillinger Escape Plan revealed that founding drummer Chris Pennie had left the highly technical mathcore outfit to join progressive rockers Coheed And Cambria, no one wanted to believe it. The surprise move baffled the band's allegiant fans almost as much as it confused the Dillinger dudes, who started to wonder if Pennie had been fostering some strange, secret obsession with unicorns and minotaurs.

"We found out about him playing with Coheed on the Internet," explained guitarist Ben Weinman. "[Frontman] Greg [Puciato] forwarded me a link to an announcement, and I'm like, 'What?!?' At that point, though, he was just going to record with them it wasn't like he wasn't going to play with us, but we were questioning keeping him in the band every day because it was embarrassing. But obviously, we felt that his talent was so needed for the band that we tried to make it work, and we let him go through this little midlife crisis or whatever it was, because we never thought he'd join that band over this band. It doesn't make sense. They're not Linkin Park. If you're going to sell out, sell out, you know?

"It's unbelievable, and the funny thing is, before all of this started going down, he used to make fun of that band, left and right," Weinman continued. "He'd imitate [Coheed frontman Claudio Sanchez's] voice and would say, 'They f---ing suck' and all this sh--. It's funny, because everybody just looks at us like, 'Huh?' And we had the same reaction. The other day, we were hanging out with [(+44) kitman] Travis Barker, [and] the guy we have playing drums with us now [Stolen Babies' Gil Sharone] is good friends with him, and he's a big Dillinger fan, and he's like, 'What happened to your drummer?' We told him, 'He quit and joined Coheed,' and he just looked so confused."

In the event.... What is rock and roll? Is it a look? Is it a dead legend that has been beaten and bruised by attempted revival? Is it based on individual perception, and defined differently by all? Does any one really know? Does anyone really care? This whirlwind of confusion blown down from the gods of rock above may perturb us at times, but there is hope in it! It is an ongoing force, holding places for new faces and sought-after sounds. Are you a part of this rock and roll confusion? Do you spend 50 dollars each time you step into Tower Records or your local Indie Rock superstore, but wind up with only 10 dollars worth of satisfaction? If you do it must be easy to relate to what I am saying. Its that unnerving feeling you have after buying four brand spanking new cds that almost make you ill with disappointment. With so much new music to be heard, and so little to be satisfied by, the gods of Rock seem to spit in our face all too often. At times it feels to me as though they are spitting in my eye as a reminder to be patient, and soon the goods will come. Where are the goods? Time is moving ever so fast and I want to get down while I am young! Well the answer is not blowing in the wind! It is not right under our noses! It is all up to the artists! We are all at the beginning of a story that will be continued on and on until our Rock and Roll has completely recovered from the illnesses of the past. So let this be a message to each and every Indie rockin, straightedge Hard Core representin, hip hop hurrayin, Emo or grind coring personality out there! There is hope!!! It lies within us! We must respect each other for what we each represent, and continue our journey to fucking rocking the world we are in! We are Coheed and Cambria, a band based out of Nyack and Kingston New York! As a band, we are tired of the confusion! We strive to be a part of what could be the revival of our bedridden rock gods. We come to you the listeners from a part of the world where culture is only for comfort- and we are really sick of it! Coheed and Cambria has been a name carried by us for five years now. The name has been through the ringer but the band is a child ready for play. Label us what you will, whether it be indie rock, emo core, or rock fusion it is all in the name of rock and roll to us, and that is what we are determined to bring you. On this note I will describe our band. My name is Travis and I am a guitar player in this unit. I share guitar and singing lines with the lead vocalist, a strapping young lad bearing the name Claudio Sanchez. He is a man with a voice that makes Robert Plant and Geddy Lee mad for ever trying. Matter of fact, his range is so high it puts a Vienna choir boy to immediate shame. In the rhythm section of the band are two of the finest gentlemen in existence - Joshua Eppard and Mic Todd. Joshua Eppard is personally my favorite drummer in the world, and not just because I am in a band with him. I know what truly lies beneath the mad man at work as he has taken over for the past drummers so dear to my heart. I see aspects of Stewart Copeland, Keith Moon, and of course, John Bonham. Josh just isn't drunk as often as Mr. Bonham was. A problem I hope will be solved sooner or later. Then there is Mic Todd, well what can I say? The man is the best fucking bass player I have ever come across- hands down. And hey, he is always fun to be around! With that I will stop bragging and leave it up to all of you. In this time of confusion when so many great bands go unheard, we will continue to work for you the listeners and our fellow artists in trying to give rock back the energy it once had! If you are in love with music as we are, you are bound to find nothing but sheer pleasure within Coheed and Cambria. We are destined to rock you and we are determined to please! Give us a listen and come join us as the musical winds change directions! Thank You, Travis, Claudio, Josh, and Mic
