Arsis To Perform Full Version Of 'A Diamond For Disease'
November 12, 2010
Virginia-based melodic tech death metal masters, Arsis, have announced a very special addition to the bands setlist on their upcoming headlining tour this upcoming December. Arsis will be performing the title track from A Diamond For Disease in it’s 12+ minute entirety!

Arsis vocalist/guitarist Jim Malone commented:
"We have been scheming among ourselves for quite a while about this, and now it's finally going to happen. We rehearsed the full version of ‘A Diamond For Disease’ last week and it came together even better than we had hoped! It needed the right tour and the right point in the life of the band, and we would not do it at all unless it was perfect. We're finally there. So everybody who's been asking us to play the entire thing every night for years and years... you finally get your (poisonous) medicine this December!"

Arsis Announce North American Headline Tour
September 25, 2010
Virginia-based melodic tech death metal masters, Arsis, are pleased to announce their headlining tour set to take place this upcoming December! "A Tour for the Sick" is presented by MetalInjection.net and will include 8 bit metal heroes Powerglove and the Sumerian Records touring juggernaut Conducting From The Grave. Arsis vocalist/guitarist Jim Malone commented:

"What does a band that is notorious for canceling tours, video game induced tendinitis, and a Noah Martin look-a-like all have in common? If you have spent the better part of your existence trying to play 16th triplet arpeggios at 250 bpm you will probably be overcome with joy (or something) to hear that we (meaning Arsis dudes), Powerglove, and Conducting From The Grave are teaming up for a US tour this December. We are beyond stoked for our first headlining tour in support of 'Starve for the Devil' and hope to see you at one (or more) of the tour dates. We promise to 'turn up the hell' on this one and make your weekend (or week night) one that is 'rock hard' and metalificated."

Bassist Noah Martin Rejoins Arsis
May 13, 2010
Bassist Noah Martin, who announced his departure from Virginia's melodic/technical death metal band Arsis in September 2008, proudly announces his return to the band's line-up. The band were currently on the "Facemelter Tour" with Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Annotations Of An Autopsy and Conducting From The Grave when bassist Nathaniel Carter abruptly left. The band has released the following official statement:

"So it's true that we have been playing as a three piece for a few gigs. Nat is out and if you want the real story come to a show and ask us, because trust me, that is much more fun and potentially colorful than reading it in an officially sanctioned and sanitized press statement. But this is a problem of very small gravity because WE ARE INEVITABLE and by the time the clock strikes midnight tonight we will be rejoined by our very dear friend and long-missed colleague... (insert drum roll here)... the immortal Noah Martin is back in our traveling circle of insanity! We will be turning the hell up to 11 in New Mexico tonight!"

Martin
added:
"Since leaving Arsis, I've been back in Virginia, finishing up my bachelor's degree. I'm still enrolled in college, so I'm kinda in the same boat as Mike [Van Dyne, drummer] as far as playing live goes. It's tough to stay away from what you love and know so well. For me, making music with James Malone means listening to obscure '80s metal, staying in seedy hotels, peeing in wrecked trailers, playing with Dutchstep, and singing like King Diamond. It feels good to be back in the fold, to make music with my friends. Good times."

James Malone: Guitar/Vocals

Arsis, a musical term meaning "silence", was formed in the year 2000 by guitarist/songwriter James Malone and drummer Michael Van Dyne. Their music is the product of strong classic metal and rock influences such as Racer X, Iron Maiden, Dio, King Diamond, Black Sabbath, and Alice Cooper, combined with the aggressive, in-your-face influences of bands such as Morbid Angel, Emperor, and Death. The duo recorded two demos that gained them considerable attention in 2002, and began playing live shows shortly thereafter with the aid of fill-in musicians. Some of Arsis' first shows include gigs opening for Pyrexia and Mortal Decay, Kalibas, Beaten Back to Pure, Ion Dissonance, and Six Feet Under.

In the fall of 2003, Arsis signed with Willowtip Records. Their debut album, "A Celebration of Guilt", was released on March 30th, 2004 and was immediately showered with rave reviews from metal press worldwide. The album showcases the duo's earliest material, packaged with an amazing layout courtesy of underground art master, Mark Riddick. In the months following, Arsis played shows with notable acts such as The Red Chord, Neuraxis, Leng Tch'e, and Dying Fetus, toured the east coast with Misery Index and Set Ablaze, and toured again with Set Ablaze shortly after. By January of 2005, "A Celebration of Guilt" had won Album of the Year honors on Metalreview.com, and was featured on numerous Top 10 of 2004 lists. A mini tour of the northeast with Invocation of Nehek and The Hostage Heart, followed by a string of east coast dates with Incantation and Mortician, also took place in January. A union between Willowtip Records and Earache Records in February of 2005 saw "A Celebration of Guilt" released throughout Europe and Australia/Asia via Earache on July 11th, 2005.

Jim and Mike entered the recording studio in late July to record "A Diamond for Disease", a special between-album mini cd released on October 25th, 2005 in North America only, via Willowtip. Once again released to critical acclaim, this cd includes the epic 12-minute title track, and was featured on Decibel Magazine's Top 40 of 2005 list.
