Architects Prep For 'Cool Tour', Complete Work On New Album
June 22, 2010
Architects (UK) will make their much anticipated return to North America this summer as part of the [horribly named - Ed.] 'Cool Tour', which features As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Between the Buried and Me, Bless the Fall, The Acacia Strain, Cancer Bats and War of Ages. This tour package kicks off on July 12th and runs through August 1st. Head on over to www.myspace.com/architectsuk to view their complete touring itinerary.

Sam Carter
(vocals) further states, "The 'Cool Tour' is going to be fucking awesome! I can't remember the last time I saw a touring package with a line up this crazy so it's an honor to be a part of it. All the bands are awesome and are totally doing their own thing. So many packages these days put together four or five bands that all sound exactly the same. To find eight bands that all have their own sound and put them together is amazing. Every day is going to be a party for sure so we hope to see you all soon."

Architects
(UK) just wrapped up the recording process for their new effort with renowned producer Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan) and look for that to be released early next year. In the meantime, a special reissue of the group's past two albums, 'Ruin' and 'Hollow Crown', are going to be made available together on one low priced disc for their upcoming tour, so be sure to pick it up while they are available as these are sure to go fast.

**Quick Editor's note: I just have to say, as a fan of extreme metal and one who is aware that there is a band called Architect (singular), and another band called Architects (plural)... do we REALLY need to keep on putting (UK) after the above mentioned band to differentiate? I mean, are there really any fans of either band or this music in general that are really THAT retarded as to confuse the two?? Ok, maybe there are a handful, but really, can we quit with the whole "UK" add on? One is ArchitecT... the other is ArchitectS... and they play extremely different styles and for the most part have extremely different fan bases. Got it? Can we move on without the useless tag now?? Good!

Architects UK, the band that Terrorizer hailed for having “a startlingly confident level of finesse and ferocity” have announced that they’re making their way across the pond to the states! Heading out on the Epitaph Tour with Every Time I Die, Bring Me The Horizon, and Oh, Sleeper, Architects UK are poised to demonstrate why Kerrang! said they were “the future of British metal”. Biography
YEAR FORMED: 2004
HOME TOWN: Brighton, UK
MEMBERS:
Sam Carter - Vocals
Tom Searle - Guitar
Tim Hillier-Brook - Guitar
Ali Dean - Bass
Dan Searle - Drums

Since their formation in late 2004, Brighton, England quintet ARCHITECTS have been on a continual ascendancy from the depths of the UK’s metal and hardcore underground to leaders of the scene.

Writing, recording and releasing their debut album ‘Nightmares’ while the members were only 17 years old, Architects’ blend of technical metal, melodic hardcore and thundering grooves quickly captured national attention, their ferociously tight and energetic live performances only further proof that this band was destined for great things.

Within a year of ‘Nightmares’ release via In At The Deep End Records (Gallows), Architects had toured the UK and Europe alongside the likes of Sikth, Beecher and The Chariot, performed a live session for Radio One, signed a Canadian deal with Distort Entertainment (Alexisonfire, Cancer Bats) and completed work on what would become their sophomore album.

At this point, Architects was a band with such momentum that even the departure of original vocalist Matt Johnson could not slow them down. Securing replacement frontman Sam Carter in record time, Architects unveiled their second album ‘Ruin’ in June 2007 to critical acclaim across the board, Carter’s dynamic combination of feral intensity with a melodic range perfectly matching the album’s expanded and progressive musical horizons.

Voted as one of the best albums of the year by Radio One, ‘Ruin’ proved to be the band’s breakthrough effort, securing Architects a position at the top of the UK metal and hardcore community. In support of the album’s release via United By Fate/ Distort, Architects performed at the prestigious Download Festival at Donington Park, clocked up a rare second live session for Radio One and hit the road once again alongside the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, As I Lay Dying, The Red Chord, Gallows and Enter Shikari, trekking relentlessly across the UK, Europe and Canada.

At the beginning of 2008, Architects unveiled two stunning new tracks as part of a split E.P with fellow Brightonians Dead Swans and secured a worldwide deal with Century Media Records (Arch Enemy, Sick Of It All, Cryptopsy, Strapping Young Lad), which marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their story. The prolific quintet are all set to record their third full length in July 2008, with a worldwide release planned for early next year. Meanwhile, an enhanced edition of ‘Ruin’ will be released via Century Media in mainland Europe on July 21st and North America on August 5th.

Hugely ambitious, hard working and at the top of their game, the year ahead will surely see Architects making waves the world over.
