Agnostic Front Announce January Tour
November 12, 2009
One of the greatest genre-defining hardcore bands of all time, Agnostic Front, has changed the face of music throughout their 25-year-long career. The two records that started it all, 'United Blood' and 'Victim in Pain', are legendary NYHC releases and some of the most sought after pieces of music for fans and collectors. On November 17th, 2009, Bridge Nine will release a CD version with both albums combined and additionally, will re-release 'United Blood' on 7” and 'Victim in Pain' on 12” LP.

Originally released in 1983, 'United Blood' was Agnostic Front’s first release and was followed shortly thereafter by 'Victim In Pain' in 1984. These albums were a blast of pure New York hardcore that confirmed AF’s status as leaders of the NYHC movement alongside precursors the Cro-Mags and Murphy’s Law. Called "the ultimate document of the New York Hardcore scene" by AllMusic and "New York Hardcore at its finest" by Punknews, vinyl versions of 'Victim In Pain' and 'United Blood' both include printed dust jackets and embossed album covers (with all original artwork available in the inside and the 7" features an exact replica of the original insert from 1983).

To celebrate the re-release of these historical records, AF will be touring the West Coast and Southwest in January - tour dates are below. 'Victim In Pain' and 'United Blood' hit stores next Tuesday.

Agnostic Front recently announced the addition of new drummer Pokey Mo (formerly of the legendary hardcore/metal crossover band Leeway).

Agnostic Front's latest album, 'Warriors' was released in North America on November 6, 2007 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was produced by Madball/Hazen Street frontman Freddy Cricien, who also happens to be Miret's younger brother. The engineering duties were handled by Zeuss at Planet Z in Hadley, Massachusetts.

Look for a new Agnostic Front record to be released in 2010 via Nuclear Blast!

Biography
YEAR FORMED: 1983
HOME TOWN: NYC, NY
MEMBERS:
Roger Miret - Vocals
Vinnie Stigma - Guitar
Lenny Di Sclafani - Guitar
Mike Gallo - Bass
Steve Gallo - Drums

In today’s civilization, people continue to suffer undergoing grief, corruption, oppression and exploitation without a way to elude their troubles. Many have lived through these problems for ages, and the moment one tries to fight for what they believe is right, the elite brings them down and their voices are disregarded. Since 1983, AGNOSTIC FRONT, one of the most venerable and notorious outacast of the movement, have helped get these messages across to the populace through socially driven music known as “hardcore.” As one of the original hardcore bands that lived and breathed the problems that controlled their everyday New York City lifestyle, Another Voice, gives power and strength to these ignored voices. Their most intense album yet, Another Voice, offers a violent attack on today’s civility, exposing some of society’s worst problems with a genuine street-bred angst and fire that only few bands possess. These rarely confronted and always respected leaders of hardcore were established as one of the meanest-sounding bands in the emerging punk genre, helping to initiate the term "hardcore," and placing an entire uproar on the New York map by association. From the start, AGNOSTIC FRONT released a catalogue of fast and violent punk tunes consisting of distinctive and aggressive drumming, bass work, and a non-stop barrage of chaotic shouting. On Another Voice, AGNOSTIC FRONT’s took a musical turn that resulted in a relentless and angrier approach through a pernicious outlook. Uncontrollable drumming and fuming guitars fill every minute like an onrushing storm of flailing limbs and incinerating transistors. The heavier paced balance between the energy and discipline of their earlier punk roots strikes a taut and vivid rock barrage that moshes in close formation. "It's social politics," vocalist Roger Miret states. "The day-to-day reality of waking up, reading the newspaper, and walking around the neighborhood. It's a hard stare on why the world is still one fucked-up place, and we tackle the very real shit that's going down: gentrification's running rampant, street justice, world destruction, working wages, and backs are still being stabbed." With Another Voice AGNOSTIC FRONT are offering their meanest, nastiest and most brutal N.Y.H.C. anthems at their best! Featuring the return of hardcore veteran, Matt Henderson (Madball) on guitars and production by Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Sworn Enemy) and Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed/MTV2’s Headbangers Ball Host). Another Voice will include a ripping band performance, enhanced video and a guest appearance by Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) captured by acclaimed director Dale “Rage” Resteghini (Fear Factory, God Forbid, Candiria). Other special guest vocal appearances on Another Voice include Scott Vogel (Terror) and Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis). Long outliving their now-legendary contemporaries like Minor Threat, SSD, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag, AGNOSTIC FRONT could easily live off their laurels, but their fight is yet over! Throughout their storied history, they have been anything but a ravishing group of individuals living prosperously and content, but more akin to have experienced growing up on the streets watching the lights shot out one by one. Jail terms have been served. Divorces have been filed. Close friends have died. Some have been murdered. All this said don't expect Another Voice to be a mellow introspective album. While there are definite vestiges of there past, this latest outing is true to AGNOSTIC FRONT’S world today and not by merely dusting off Xeroxed memories of yesteryear. They sincerely have managed to continue and expose the conflicts they had to undergo in a compellingly evocative approach by relating it to their harsh views of today. Another Voice is an album overflowing of significant hopefulness liberated from a profound fury reaffirming that AGNOSTIC FRONT as a band still operating like a musical razor blade. Regardless of their history, the proof is simple AGNOSTIC FRONT’s street anthems are hard cutting, strong musical hit and runs that continues to broaden with every release. No one is born with tattoos. No one's born hardcore but when the ink or the music sets in, you're changed. AGNOSTIC FRONT continues to be living embodiment that "Hardcore for life" isn't an empty slogan or a musical dead end.
