Adema reunites with original lineup
August 13, 2009
Adema has reunited with their full original lineup, including Marky Chavez. In the near future, the band plans to release a DVD and album and tour the West Coast.

Adema posted this early this morning on their Myspace page:

Formed in 2000 in Bakersfield - Marky Chavez, David Deroo, Tim Fluckey, Mike Ransom, and Kris Kohls, collectively known as ADEMA, signed to ARISTA Records, and within a year released their Self-Titled debut which produced the hit singles “Giving In” and “The Way You Like It’’, eventually being certified GOLD in the US and selling over a million copies worldwide.

By the end of 2003, the band had released the EP Insomniac’s Dream (with the track “Immortal” being used as the theme for MORTAL KOMBAT:DEADLY ALLIANCE) and Unstable, with their collective album sales topping 1.5 million.

Along the way Adema also managed to play for hundreds of thousands of fans on the main stages of Ozzfest, Music as a Weapon, Sno-Core, and the inaugural outing of PROJEKT REVOLUTION (with Linkin Park and Cypress Hill), appeared on major late night TV fare including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Tonight Show, Last Call with Carson Daly, and Craig Kilborn, and became a staple of MTV and Rock Radio.....

Of course it wasn’t that easy. In fact, the seeds of our story were planted over a decade earlier in the oil fields and honky-tonks of Bakersfield, where bassist David Deroo, guitarist Ryan Schuck (Orgy/Julien K) and a then unknown singer named Jonathan Davis played together in a band called Sex Art. ....

Meanhile, drummer Kris Kohls pounded away in local favorites Cradle of Thorns, with Ty Elam (who shared part time vocal duties in Sex Art) who would eventually change their name to VIDEODRONE, and sign to Elementree Records, the Warner imprint of the band who had the foresight to steal SEX ART’s singer. So Deroo found Tim Fluckey and started another incarnation of Sex Art (eventually changing their name to Juice) and wallowed in semi-obscurity until 2000.....

Then the story took another unsuspecting twist when Davis’s younger half-brother Mark Chavez joined Deroo, Fluckey, Kohls, and guitarist Mike Ransom, to record demos for an unnamed band that would, only weeks later, create a ridiculous major label bidding war (remember those?), and eventually become the teen sensation known as ADEMA.....
Meanwhile, back in 2004, Adema and Chavez unceremoniously parted ways (after the earlier departure of guitarist Mike Ransom) citing musical differences, drugs, girlfriends, etc., with the band hiring replacements and soldiering on, releasing 2005’s Planets (Earache) and 2007’s Kill The Headlights (Immortal).....

Eventually wounds healed and the 5 original members of Adema buried the hatchet and became cordial, then friendly, even briefly flirting with the idea of reuniting with Chavez before the release of Kill The Headlights. Well, that wasn’t in the cards, but apparently 2 years later, we’ve been dealt a different hand.....

Yes, after years of heated YOUTUBE debate (where Adema’s 5 “official” ARISTA-era videos have over 3 million views since 2007) about whether or not Adema sucked/ruled with or without Marky, whether or not “Giving In” was Linkin Park, and what exactly “nu-metal” is, in 2009, 5 friends from Bakersfield decided to get together and make music again. ....
.. ..
Haters, start your engines.

Southern California Hard Rockers, Adema, have issued the following update:

"Well, we said we had some big announcements coming soon, and here is the first one. Sometime later this year we will be releasing our first-ever full length Adema DVD.
The as-yet-untitled DVD release will EXCLUSIVELY cover the original lineup of Adema, and will feature TONS of hard to find, rare and never before seen footage, including videos, live and rehearsal footage, tv appearances, as well as a behind the scenes look at the making of Adema and 'Unstable'.

We're not sure EXACTLY what will be on it as we are working on clearances, etc., but expect it to be nothing short of awesome."

Stay tuned here for more details as they become available, and keep watching the Official Adema Youtube for a sneak peek very soon.

Onesidezero European Tour Cancelled
January 19, 2008
Onesidezeros upcoming European tour, alongside Adema and Re:Ignition, has been cancelled due to personal reasons within the Adema camp. The band has released the following statement:

"Things like this happen and it sucks! Of course we're all bummed out, but Tiefdruck Musik, our German label, our manager, and Onesidezero have worked really hard to make this happen," commented drummer Rob Basile. "We're not looking at this as a complete cancellation, but an opportunity for all bands to regroup and reconvene at a later date. We're still hyped to get there!"

"While Adema, Onesidezero, and Re:Ignition will not be fulfilling the February and March '08 dates scheduled in Europe, we have intentions to revisit these tour plans sometime in the near future," added Onesidezero manager Shawna Morey. "Tiefdruck-Musik, Onesidezero's European label, has been very supportive of all artists involved, and we're looking forward to a long lasting relationship and all overseas touring opportunities to come."

Onesidezero is currently supporting their recently released Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Stabbing Westward, Taproot) produced sophomore album, which was released through Corporate Punishment Records. The album is the long awaited follow-up to the bands critically acclaimed 2001 debut 'Is This Room Getting Smaller', which saw the group tour with the likes of Incubus, 311, Static-X, and Soulfly.

Onesidezero: Original Guitarist Brett Kane Rejoins Band
December 11, 2007
Los Angeles rockers Onesidezero have announced the addition of original guitarist, Brett Kane, to the group for select tour cycles. Kane has re-joined the band, along with guitarist Colin Crow, who will be filling in on the West Coast tour dates currently underway.

"It's great to be jamming with Brett again. He's a huge part of our sound and is a great performer," says drummer Rob Basile. "I've missed his random noises and trippy affects. He also never fails to give the worst "stink eye" if someone trainwrecks at a show! As for Colin, he's an old friend and former member of the band Allergic. It's been a pleasure having him jam with us, and it feels like old Onesidezero again! Come check it out!"

"It's been great having Brett back in the band. It's like he never left. One forgets how important his parts are and then realizes how much more depth the song has when he is playing," added bassist Cristian Hernandez. "Colin is a great guitarist. Having Colin in the band is like a breath of fresh air, he's been able to cover all the parts and has even added his own style to them, so it's almost like hearing the song for the first time again."

Onesidezero recently released their Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Stabbing Westward, Taproot) produced sophomore album was released through Corporate Punishment Records. The groups new album can be streamed in its ent irety at this location.
